It's not the clothes that people come to see
It's the life people led in them that counts
Diana Vreeland

I think it's great that people get into the spirit of an event like this by putting so much care and effort into the creation of these outfits. My personal thanks to all who contributed in this way.

They range from minor touches to elaborate creations, some designed and made by professional costume designers.

There are even those that bring many different outfits, and frequently change to show them all off.

Motivations vary:
- an homage to a favorite character
- covering personal insecurity at meetingg people in public
- friends, couple, family project to incrrease closeness
- see how beautiful I am and take my pictture
- competitiveness
- just plain fun

The community accepts and welcomes all these and more.

For costumes just floating around and not desecrating the concept of theater, some of my favorites were:

A great Vash - custom-made full length suede coat, the yellow-lensed glasses with the "W" frames, great yellow spiky hair, boots and gloves.

TV Boy - his head in a monitor, mini-stilts to make him 8 feet tall and mobile.

Spiderman, Nightcrawler, Phoenix - excellent detail, Nightcrawler even had the 2 fingers and toes.

Iron Mouse and Tin Nyanko - very well done, I just like the characters.

Sango - great detail, very skinny girl, very few can wear anime clothes like that.

Radical Edward - Ed doesn't wear much, great looking girl with attitude and guts.

Kitty-girls always rule!

I'd hoped to see and didn't, Haibane, Faye Valentine, Excel, Cheza, Legato Bluesummers, or Asuka Langley.

I'm sure that with 10,000 in attendance, I missed many wonderful outfits.
