Implementation of new  corporate, retail and investment banking capabilities to support post merger integration.

The particular area of responsibilities included: 

  • Analyze current trade finance and clean payments processing and define business requirements for  Clean Payments (CP) operations;
  • Finalize CP business design and build functional model;
  • Define and manage open issues with vendors and business unit leads;
  • Define functional gaps, propose cost effective solutions and acceptable “work-arounds”;
  • Provide methodology and coordinate affords of bank personnel in customizing and testing activities.

                                  New Hotel development project  feasibility study

Feasibility study of a new hotel development project in Moscow city center. 

Project included market analysis phase, business concept development phase and financial modeling phase.

 

 Areas of entire responsibility included:

 

  • Detailed description of taxes, related to hotel construction and operating phases

  • Financial modeling for scenarios, defined in business concept. This included:

  • Integrated financial model structure design,

  • Capital investment plan development, 

  • Revenue and cost structure composition, 

  • Pro-forma financials development (income statement, balance sheet cash flow),

  • Detailed investment analysis (NPV, IRR and pay-off period)

  • Sensitivity analysis

Areas of additional responsibility included:

  • Moscow hotel market detailed assessment, including: 

  • Demand and supply analysis,

  • Customer base segmentation and target customer groups   definition, 

  • Market development scenarios definition and key market indicators projections

  • Business concept development, including:

  • Hotel room pool design (number, class, size)

  • Pricing strategy definition

  • Demanded hotel facilities description

  • SWOT analysis

                                 New Retail Strategy Implementation

Implementation of a retail banking capability to support the Bank’s retail banking strategy.

The particular area of responsibilities included: 

  • Coordination and preparation of new retail banking products definition and description 

  • Establishing a common framework for discussing and analyzing requirements under Russian Accounting Legislation and the internal rules 

  • Translation of business requirements into functional specifications for new retail banking product 

  • Development of detailed business requirement for deposit products, including deposits for individuals and small businesses 

  • Analyzing available functionality of core banking system (Equation, vendor - Misys) and defining functional gaps 

  • Product streamlining as for existing core system functionality. Proposing  adapted solution and negotiating new business model with a bank

  • Major gaps assessment, alternative processing mechanism analysis

                                 Marketing research on e-Banking

Conducted an internal research on iBanking effectiveness and development strategy for Russian Banks. Analyzed potential organizational  models, competitive environment, potential demand on iBanking products and services by private customers. Analyzed the reasons of unsuccessful experience and success stories both in Russia and abroad. Valued the efficiency of service distribution channels, assessed existing channel strategy of foreign  commercial banks and iBanking start-ups.

Document Management 

Participated in  a document management and workflow automation pilot for Alfa-Bank (EDMS).  Worked on the functional model assessment for integrated document management and workflow  system.  Gained client satisfaction when analyzed and estimated document management solution for rigorous document structure organization. Participated in pilot implementation of workflow solution for internal process automation based on Lotus Domino.Doc/Domino Workflow applications. Led processes specifications activities, performed software testing design, interacted with software vendor to achieve software configuration/build quality, assisted in project team efforts co-ordination. Led the bank team in performing testing and vendor management. Analyzed software capabilities and functional coverage, performed software gap analysis. Created a project risk mitigation plan, execution of which enabled conversion of pilot project into full-scale EDMS implementation. Worked on the conception strategy on global document  management and workflow solution implementation in Alfa-Bank central office (Moscow).

Participated in a  high level IT capability assessment project for a major Russian bank. Assisted in the definition of the company’s information needs and IT strategy. Conducted the part of Functional model assessment including Documentary Business and Monetary Control operation analysis. Contributed reasonable actions to be taken by the Bank to improve performance efficiency in Trade Finance and Monetary Reporting.
