Sailor Moon started off as a manga called Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon, meaning 'Pretty Soilder Sailor Moon'. Naoko Takeuchi created the story, and also drew the manga.

In 1992, Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon was created as an anime, that aired in 6 seasons, Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon R, Sailor Moon S, Sailor Moon SuperS, and Sailor Moon Sailor Stars. It became a very popuar anime and the first 2 seasons were dubbed by DiC and aired in North America.

Story

It all starts when Queen Berly attacked the Moon Kingdom. It is where Queen Serenity and her daughter, Princess Serenity lived and ruled. Princess Serenity had 4 Inner guardians that protected her. They were Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Venus. She also has 3 Outer guardians that protected the out solor system from their own plantes. They were Sailor Saturn, Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune. Sailor Pluto guards the Gates of Time.

Queen Beryl killed everyone one that lived on the moon, and all the Sailor Senshi. Queen Serenity used the last of the power of the Imperium Silver Crystal to send all who died to Earth to be reborn again. She, herself died because she had no more power to help herself.
