FLINT WHINCOP BLITZ KIDS SCENE

Michele Clapton 79  -  Michele Clapton in 1979 was shaving her hair short at the back and colouring it red,she was very Japanese till she turned New Romantic and shaved it all off, [ nearly ] I hope you can use them. In 1979 I invited some Blitz Kids to put on a show in front of 4000 foreign hairdressers to show the world what was happening down at Steve's Bowie Night Blitz Club, we used PX cloths and the shot of Michele was taken then.

The Helen Robinson Short hair cut was taken from an article in Italian Vogue published in 1977,the piece was done by Manolo Blahnik explaining Punk to the Italians.   I cut Helen's hair with a Flick Knife to shock the complacent hair industry into moving on ,this was in 1976 and i was working at Vidal Sassoons as an Art Director.

This Helen Robinson  cut was made  six months later after I root permed her hair. - 1977 -
