FLINT WHINCOP - FRANKIE STEIN -

This  work was really pre punk done  on Frankie Stein , she was one of the few people at the time willing to have my cuts on her.  The plastic iridescent colours that had just come out for hair need strong lines never seen before and it needed a Frankie Stein to carry them off. The work looks quiet now days but believe me it was very loud then. This work in early 1976 was the precursor to the BLITZ  phenomenon in the 80s, and helped to give courage to the many looking for their own voice. The cuts were never allowed to be photographed formally as they were regarded as distasteful by the Vidal Sassoon establishment . The shots come from my own 8mm film camera .
