The First Week

Kyle first started eating solids in August just before he turned six months old. He started with rice cereal. Since we didn't know how he would do, his first few feedings were shirtless. Mommy got to feed him the first time, but Daddy got to try the second night. He is still eating rice cereal...and his bib!
In addition to rice cereal, Kyle started eating fruits and vegetables, starting a new one every three days or so. Here he is having one of his favorites - bananas. One of his first vegetables to try was carrots. He liked them. Of course Kyle will eat anything. He did not reject anything we tried to feed him.
Kyle quickly learned when he was in the high chair, he was getting something yummy to eat. He generally kept clean except for the area around his mouth.
Kyle loved trying his first finger foods. His first experience feeding himself was with Wagon Wheels. When you let them get moist and don't eat them quickly, they make a big mess. Kyle also tried - and liked - biter biscuits. These, too, get messy when you get them wet and don't eat them quickly.
