Ellensburg is home to Central Washington University.

    The tall building you see here is Barge Hall.  It was one of the original buildings at the university.  The school was originally intended to serve as the State Normal School.  Which was the states school for teachers. 

    I have been told that at one time there was a basketball court in the basement of this building.  It is said that there was a load bearing post that stood in the middle of the floor.  So the home court advantage was a huge one.
