This
is my 1960 Rambler American which I am restoring. I am having the
engine rebuilt right now and I have done all the body repair myself. This
car was headed to the junkyard when I rescued her, very cliche' I know.
There were rust holes on the car ranging from the size of a quarter to
the size of a floormat! The drivers side floor was completely gone. Some
scrap metal and bodywork fixed it. My best friend David and I put in the
stereo, which was never in the car to begin with, and I put a 15,000 BTU
Heater and defroster in the front. She may be ugly to look at now,
but MAN SHE WILL KEEP YOU WARM IN THE WINTER LOL! Next she
gets a cool paint job (Metallic Cherry Red fading into Reddish Purple Mettallic
in front, new chrome and custom chrome wheels, and finally the interior
restored in white leatherette with black trim. This was my first car!
Dad bought her for me when I got my driver's license at 16 and I plan to
restore her in his memory. |
