Bio
I'm a secretary. The most interesting thing that's happened in my life lately is that I changed my mind. I hated Shakespeare for years. Ever since I first attempted to read a play of his when I was about 7. Thought it was trite drivel crap and refused to ever give it a chance.

Yes, I've seen the Kevin Brannaugh movies, and yes, I've seen that other one, and YES I've seen the one that just MUST be seen by everybody!! I didn't say I wouldn't give it a chance.

Still, it did nothing for me.

Then I went to the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre in Navy Pier. I, as a normal female, have no small amount of pride, and when I found I had to admit that King Lear, performed live, in an intimate setting, was FABULOUS, it did feel like eating crow.

It was good crow though. I finally "get it" ... understanding ... why everyone who reads books at all has this constant erection over the great works of the friggin bard.

He still looks bad on paper.

What's a Dryad?
A Dryad is a creature that lives in a tree. Her health and moods are largely dependant on the health of the tree. The tree is her soul. The tree also gives her the energy she needs to do that fairie magic that everyone finds so endearing. Some say that when the tree dies, the dryad will die unless she finds another tree. Others say that a dryad cannot find a new tree and she will die no matter what if her tree dies.

But why did I pick that as a handle? No, I am not a fairie, I do not look remotely like a fairie (at 5'9" and 180lbs, I'm an amazon) and I do not have the disposition or the personality of a fairie (thank goodness!). The reason is simple. My well being is not linked to a tree, but to people. I am extremely sensitive to other peoples moods, feelings, emotions, and problems. I also revel and bask in their joy, their successes, and their good moods. This can be a wonderful blessing, or a horrible curse. It all depends on the person.

It's a great way to live. Or a completely psychotic way, if you don't believe in intuition *grin* Take your pick.
