| Happy St. Patrick's Day! St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17th every year. He is the patron saint of Ireland and this holiday is widely celebrated in areas where there is a large poulation of Irish Americans. Traditional foods of Ireland are available and cooked at home - corned beef and cabbage with potatoes (or boiled dinner as it is sometimes called), soda bread and Guinness - a very dark and bitter beer. Cupcakes have green frosting and sometimes they even serve green beer at the Pub! Words of Wisdon....... " I am more and more convinced that our happiness or unhappiness depends far more on the way we meet the events of life, than on the nature of those events themselves." - Alexander Humboldt Zen Story Two monks were walking to a monastery in another town a few hours away. On their travels, they came across a woman trying to cross a small stream. she looked like she could use some help, so the first monk asked her if he could be of assistance. After carrying the beautiful, young woman across the stream, the two monks went on their way. "You have been agitated and unhappy for a few hours now" said the first monk to the second. "What is the matter?" "You know that we are not allowed to have contact with women, especially young, beautiful women" said the second monk, "And you picked her up and carried her!" "Yes", said the first monk, "I did - I picked her up and carried her in my arms - for two minutes - but you have been carrying her in your head for hours!!" Let's watch what WE carry in our heads on a daily basis. |
| May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrock. May your heart be as light as a song, May each day bring you bright, happy hours, That stay with you all year long. |
