| Soaring Chapter 1-New Friends "Tell me one thing,Lily.Am I going to be late for my dance lessons and my class because of you?", Lana yelled to her friend as they walked through the streets ofManhatten to FYE. "No,I'm just going to buy a cd then we can leave.",Lily responded as they turned the corner. "What's the store called again? FYI,FEY,YEF.........or something?"Lana asked.She saw her friend turn the corner ahead of her.Then Lily stopped and turned to her confused friend. "It's called FYE,you know,For Your Entertainment?"Lily said in a way that made Lana feel stupid.But ,Lana pushed it away and forced a little laugh. "So where is it again?I mean we have been walking for at least..........a half hour.How many more blocks?Two,three,fifty-eight?",Lana asked trying to annoy her friend. "We're here!!!!!!!!!",Lily screamed as she walked through the store doors.Lana looked at her friend through the crowded store wondering whatever happened to herwhen she was a baby. She laughed once again and walked inside. The whole store was filled up wall to wall.Lana looked for Lily and decided it was too late and that the crowd had swallowed her up.She glanced at all the girls waiting in line for something.They were wearing skirts so short and shirts so tight it looked like they absolutely had no other clothes but what they were wearing then.She squeezed through the crowd to the nearest counter,looking for someone who works at FYE.She spotted a woman near the counter digging through the cash register. "Um......excuse me.Why are these girls here?Is there someone special here today?",Lana asked to the woman as she pulled out a reciept and threw it in the garbage and laughed. "That's really funny!But, if you really don't know..............Dream Street is here!And I personally think you are NOT a fan of them.Are you?",she responded to Lana as she dug for more garbage in the stuffed register.Then Lana laughed. "No,I've never even heard of them! Anyway,why would anyone want to have a band called,'DREAM STREET'.I mean,their competitors must be called Dream Highway or Dream Avenue,right!?!",Lana said sarcastically to the woman and the woman laughed again."Must be,eh!It would be really nice chatting with you but I got some work to do.",the woman said and then Lana nodded and went to look for her friend.Once again she squeezed through crowd and continued to look for Lily.After about three minutes she spotted her on one of the lines to see Dream Street.Lana sighed as she walked to her friend who looked so excited and giddy.She reached her right before she walked up to the guys and grabbed her hand before she handed her cd to them. "What are you doing?",Lana whispered to her starstruck friend. "I'm getting my cd signed..........what are YOU doing?",she answered glaring at Lana and pulling away her hand.Then she handed her cd to one of the guys and he pulled out the little booklet and signed it.After he signed, he looked at Lily and smiled at her.Lily smiled back in a way she never did before.It made Lana feel sick .Lily shook his hand and he gave her back her cd.She went down the row and looked each guy in the eye and smiled like she had done before.Lana groaned at what she saw and one of the guys looked at her.She turned red and walked away.She went to the door and waited there.About two seconds later, Lily came up to her and showed Lana her signed cd.Lana smiled and grabbed her friends arm and started to pull her out the door.Then she heard a, 'wait up', from someone in the crowd .Then the crowd roared with screaming.Both girls turned around and saw one of the guys push through the crowd toward Lana and Lily. Lily gasped and fainted.Lana fell to her knees to help her unconcious friend.Her cd had fell and Lana grabbed it and pushed it to the side. The guys had immediatly stopped what they were doing to help Lily. Lana watched them as they called 911 and they had carried her to the back of the store. Lana followed and tried talking to her friend.One of the guards took out a cold COLA can and put it to her face.She slowly opened her eyes and then realized the can of cola was by her face and grabbed the guard and said that it was cold.Lana laughed as she told the guard to just put away the can.Lily's color had changed and she was pale.The guys laughed and one of them asked if she was alright. "I'm okay,I just feel a little dizzy and I still feel faint.But I'm going to be al- ",she answered but didn't finish because she had passed out right in the middle of the sentence. "Lily?Lily?",Lana started to say the guys laughed again.The ambulence came and took Lily. Lana called Lily's mother and told her what had happened .When Lana hung up,one of the guys had asked her,"So,What's your name?".Lana laughed andanswered him. "I'm Lana,and I'm not familiar with your names.............because I have never heard of you guys before until now.".Lana looked at all of them and forced a smile. "I'm Chris and this is Jesse,Matt ,Frankie, and Greg.",Chris answered.Lana smiled and looked around at all the girls staring at her and the guys. "I better go........my friend is going to freak if she finds out she's in a hospital.She hates hospitals.Thank you though! I honestly wouldn't have reacted to her fainting like that because she is a natural fainter.She faints at everything gross she sees.She faints when she gets really close to a celebrity just like what she did when she saw you,uh,Chris?",Lana said picking up her friends cd and putting it in her bag. "Yeah....it's Chris and no problem.Girls fainting when they see us happens all the time!",he answered to her .Lana turned around and started to head to the door when she realized she had one more question to ask them. "Hey!Hold Up.................Chris!Why did you yell wait up to us before?",Lana asked looking looking at him as he turned to answer. "Oh,right!You had dropped this paper.Here you go..........",He answered handing the paper to her.Lana gratefully took it and thanked him. "Well,uh,Good Luck with your careers!",she said to them as she slowly turned away to the door.They all said thanks and turned back to their seats.Lana thought of all the days she had to leave her schedule somewhere unknown,she was glad she had misplaced it today.Because all she could think of was Chris. |
