Short History about Jain Samaj Of USA

Jain Samaj Of USA (JSOU) was originally started in 1973 at 215 Park Ave, Hoboken, NJ 07030 under the name of Shree Visha Mevada Digamber Jain Samaj. The very first meeting of this organization was held in the same year. The first summer picnic was also held in the same year at Timothy Lake in New York at Palisades parkway.

From that time onwards, this samaj has grown rapidly with the help, co-operation and support from its proud members. Currently there are hundreds of families registered as members and quite a few families have joined this samaj on a Life Time Basis.

This samaj and its members have done a remarkable job of keeping traditional Jain religion and its culture alive in USA. It also inspired kids and children of all ages to learn and follow Jain religion.
