GANG Unit:
The GANG Unit is responsible for the enforcement of those
applicable laws pertaining to gangs on school property. Detectives within the unit conduct instructional training to better educate officers and school officials about gang identification. The unit also gathers and disseminates pertinent
information concerning gangs to officers within the DeKalb School System Police Department..
The GANG Unit
aggressively works toward the identification of gangs and it's members within the
school system. The unit's mission includes the investigation of
gang related offenses; the investigation of gang members with the assistance of the administration in the affected school; and gathering and dissemination of pertinent gang intelligence to
School Resource Officers. The unit, in keeping with the goals of the DeKalb School System Police Department, conduct frequent initiatives to prevent gang involvment by students and improve the quality of education for students.
