Blues Blanked,2-0

The Blues, who just came off a 3-1 loss from the Blue Jackets on
Wednesday, now lose to the Dallas Stars 2-0 Stars goaltender Marty Turco turned away 33 shots. Aaron Downey popped one into the Blues net after skating down the ice with Niko Kapanen and Klemm, Kapanen made a nifty little pass to Downey and he ripped it off the post and bounced off Blues goaltender Chris Osgood and went right in at 16:40 to put the Stars ahead by one. Then came Philippe Boucher time to score, as he registerd the Stars second goal in the third period thanks to a perfect pass by captain Mike Modano to put the stars up 2-0 late in the third period. St Louis had a cuple good chances but the Stars pretty much rocked the rink. John Erskine has returned to the Dallas Stars lineup after having a (leg laceration) and has now been activated off the IR today and is a game-time decision, while David Oliver who was out for a while with a
(chest contusion) did play in tonights game. However, Scott Young who has (back spasms) and Rob DiMaio who sufferd a (ankle injury) did not make it to the home game on Friday. The Stars, currently ninth in the Western Conference, will have to be at their best to pick up some wins next week as they begin a stretch of five games in eight days against teams ranked in the top five of their conferences. Just a little more than halfway through their regular season and the Stars have been shut out nine times already - the latest shut-out came from a 3-0 loss at Edmonton on Tuesday. Friday's defeat was the Blues seventh in their last eight road games. Their only road wins since Dec. 9 have come against Columbus Blue Jackets and the Florida Panthers- teams that are both below .500 The Stars have the league's second best record this season when scoring the game's first goal, going 17-3-2.
