K'lor and Ilyath |
I still don't understand why you're worried that I won't catch Yesereth when she rises. I am the only one she likes, even if she won't admit it. Ilyath said fondly as he pumped his wings to get some lift. He and K'lor were off on patrol that day, and had plenty of airtime to talk to each other. K'lor (who still hadn't gotten used to his dragonrider name, and often wouldn't respond unless you called him Kilaron) had expressed his worry that Yesereth would fly soon, and another bronze would catch her. He didn't even think about the browns. I know that love, I'm just thinking about what'll happen to Ramala if... You mean what will happen to you. The bronze put in. You are worried that Ramala will mate away from you. You shouldn't think like that. I will catch Yesereth, and assuming I don't, which I will, Ramala would control herself for you. But don't worry. Ilyath said again. I will catch Yesereth. It is only an open flight the first time, after that only I will fly her. K'lor smiled and patted Ilyath affectionately. How glad he was to have Impressed a bronze! Not any bronze at that, but one as intelligant as Ilyath. He felt Ilyath's arrogance even before the eggs had hatched nearly a turn and a half ago, and he had been drawn to that egg. He could almost hear Ilyath's voice before the hatching, and he'd mentioned this to Ramala. His mate seemed slightly confused by this, how could he hear the dragonet before it hatched? K'lor hadn't bothered to explain furhter, only he and Ilyath knew what it had been like. Just as only Ramala and Yesereth knew what it was like for them. Although K'lor remembered with fondness that Ilyath's entrance into the world had been less dignified than the little bronze had planned. Yes well, Ilyath butted in, it could have happened to anyone. Ilyath, despite being a dragon, still remembered getting his tail caught in the sharp edges of his shell. Yesereth had forgotten, for all she'd trumpeted happily when it had happened. Yesereth witnessed my birth. Ilyath said. And she will witness the birth of our children. Trust me K'lor. I always do. K'lor pondered his dragon for a moment, touching the bronze hide as Ilyath glided along. How old was Yesereth now? She had been Impressed slightly less than a Turn before Ilyath, so she was nearly three now. She would rise soon. K'lor reassured himself that Ilyath was full grown, strong and smart enough to catch her. K'lor? Ilyath interrupted. We are at the edge of our territory. Shall we go back over or go between? "Go between love, I need to ask Ramala something." She is busy drilling with the other queens. K'lor? Yes love? I would like us to be wingleaders some day. Wouldn't you? Of course. K'lor replied, a little shocked at his dragon's statement. Whyever did you bring it up? I don't know. Ilyath said, and angled sideways lazily. His wingspan was huge, K'lor realized, as he looked up at the bronze wing membrane. When had his little hatchling gotten to be such a monster? Ilyath rumbled with laughter. We will go between then, and I will bathe with Yesereth. Neither of us have swam yet today. "Good. That gives me time to talk to Ramala.." About Yesereth's flying? Yes, about Yessie's flying. Why bother? I already told you I'd catch her for you, and me, when she flew. K'lor rolled his eyes and gave his dragon the command to go between. Sometimes the bronze just didnt' get it....They were abruptly surrounded in nothingness. |
