"I am 19, a junior in high school and I am in the regular class. I take nature, science. I take english 11. I take health and U.S. History. I also work at the school store and with athletic secretary.
Having Down Syndrome is like being part of a puzzle. It's safe to reach out to kids with it or who have it. Sometimes I feel different fromother people, but I am happy the way I am now. My friends and my family care about me because I have the unique traits that make my puzzle pieces so special. Each piece fits in its own way.
I like poetry and when I write it I'm like, my poems say something. Like it might say something about attitude or my feelings or it might be about Downs. It might be about Downs and it might be about discussing my feelings about it. Like, I put my feelings into the poems."
