A disabitity to overcome, so far in life you have to go,
An ability within your soul, to teach me everything I needed to know.

My gift from god, my brown eyed child,
I knew everything was fine the day you first smiled.

The lives you've touched since you've been on this earth,
Are so much more than a rich man's worth.

The hills we've climbed and the fields we will roam,
Will take us through a journey so very few know.

The joy you get from the small things in life,
Lead me to believe I've done most things right.

Although far from perfect in genetic makeup,
I thank god for you each day you wake up.

I fear the day our lives will part,
The deep void I will have within my heart.

For now we have so many places to go,
On our journey only parents of special children Know.
