The Weekly Visitor Online Edition
February
13, 2001
Tradition blended with just the right amount of change is a recipe for success - not only in the history of our country, but here at Decatur-Trinity as well. We are blessed with rich tradition - and let me share with you some of the AWESOME things going on around here!!
Discover Church is THE place to be on Sunday morning if you're a 1st-5th grader. The boats are rockin' with hymns & praise songs! We've had about 17 kids each Sunday - & two of our visitors have convinced their parents to join the church! Along with that, 3 of our kids have asked to join the pastor's class & be baptized as a result of this new & exciting worship service. Praise God!!!!
Two new Jr. Ministry Teams have been formed of 6th-12th graders. These teams will present the message in Discover Church once a month as their way to minister to the children. Praise God!!!
The Early Learning Center is steadily growing in reputation & numbers! I can say from experience, this is THE best program in Bartlett. Debbie Cassman & her staff of 5 teachers are making a tremendous impact in the lives of these 21+ children & their families. 2001/2 registration has just opened up for next year & we are expecting a full house! Praise God!!!
This is just a very small glimpse of the exciting & ever-growing world of children & youth here at Decatur! We have so much to Praise God for - & so little to complain about!!! Thank You for keeping us in your prayers!!!

WEEK OF COMPASSION
Offerings such as Week of Compassion ask us to recycle our blessings: to pass along some of our money so that people who lack the basic provisions of life, receive a little help and hope. But if we think we are merely "giving to the poor" we are wrong. The people who benefit from our gifts are in ways richer that we, because they are learning to rely on the love of God, channeled through the care of fellow human beings. As we open our awareness to such people’s courage and trust, we begin to embrace the great lesson of faith that these supposed "receivers" have to teach: Not only have we all received, as our blessing filled lives can attest – we all continue to receive.
Last year, DTCC gave almost $4,100 to the Week of Compassion. With your help, we can exceed that amount this year. Please share some of your blessing from God by giving generously to the Week of Compassion, February 18 – 25.
Lynda Ford, World Outreach Dept.
