From the Minister's Desk
This past week was a great one for me! I can't think of a better Holy Week than the one that just passed. The Maundy Thursday service was excellent and we had a good attendance to support the program. The youth did a great job Sunday morning at the 7:00a.m. Resurrection Service. I was pleased that in spite of the rainy weather, there was still a good number of folks who came to hear the youth. And, of course, the morning worship service was outstanding. I heard many wonderful comments about the service from members as well as visitors.
If you weren't there you missed a great time in the house of the Lord. I want to give special thanks to Bill Huff, our choir director. He is a man of many talents and you need to get to know him and his wife, Laura, and their two children. Thanks also goes to Eddie Byrd who played a duet with Michelle Brown. The music was very moving and added so much to the service. The choir just outdid themselves. And finally, thanks to Melody and Natasha Ramsey for the duet on French horns. To all of you who were instrumental in the worship service, a big thank you from me.
Now for the many who worked behind the scenes. Kimber Vaughan, Christy Utterback, and Rick Pilon who worked with the youth for the Resurrection Sunday service. To Dave Luechauer for providing the special lighting for the early service. To Ron and Kathy Srygley and Natalie Gitchell who helped the children in the back get ready for their baptisms and made sure they got back out in the sanctuary to be with their families. To the Bridge Team who provided a Continental breakfast for us Sunday morning. To the Worship committee who made sure that the lilies were in place and that the worship services flowed evenly Thursday night and Sunday morning. And to others that I have probably left out- thank you all.
So you see, it takes a lot of people to put together something that appears to be rather simple. But when it is done right, everyone benefits and I know that the Lord was well pleased. I look forward to worshipping with all of you this Sunday. Until then, keep the faith!

NOTES OF APPRECIATION
Thanks to Scott for his unrelenting support of us and Ed’s sister-in-law, Glenda. It gave us comfort to know that he was there filling in for us as we went on separate business trips during her recent surgery. Also, thanks again to those of you who have called, sent letters and cards and supported us in prayers and other ways.
Glenda will be moved to Jonesboro Healthsouth so she can be close to her husband and children during her rehabilitation. We hope you will continue to pray for her as her goal is to return to the classroom in August.
In Christ, Eddie and Dawn Byrd
The family of Willie J. Hawkins thank you for your calls, cards, food and prayers. A special thanks to Scott and Bob for being so concerned with our family’s needs. The love and support shown by the entire congregation has meant so much. We thank all of you.

BOYS CLUB
A new club is forming here at Decatur-Trinity. A club for boys only, ages 9-15. Our goal is to give boys a chance to do things they don’t always get to do – fishing, camping, hiking, bowling, playing ball and various other sports, learning hobbies, service projects, and most importantly …sharing in the lives of other boys. All events will be completely supervised. All that you parents have to do is bring your boy(s) and pick them up. We will do our best to keep these events costing very little, or nothing at all.
