By the time you read this, Karen and I will be in California visiting my family. We feel a need to keep in physical contact with both of our mothers who live in California. Last year we went to San Diego to visit Karen's mother and this year to the Sacramento area to be with my mother. The older I get the more I realize how important family is. As I have said many times, I have buried over 400 people and I have yet to have one of those people or their families tell me that they wish the person would have worked more hours and spent less time with his or her family. It is always the opposite- regrets that more time wasn't spent with family.
Karen and I will be gone for a week but don't fret because we have our own Rev. Bob Williams bringing the message. I know that you will want to be here to support him and hear the words of life that he has to speak. You may have noticed the past couple of weeks that our Elders have been picking up the slack by being the worship leader. I appreciate their participation and it does add variety to the life of morning Worship. Let me know how you feel. If you feel strongly about having me do the entire service that would not be a problem for me.
For those of you who may not be aware, last Sunday we had 6 youth go to CYF camp. Kimber Vaughan took a carload up and spent the night at Bethany Hills helping the Directors get things situated. We also have several of our Chi Rho and Juniors going to camp this Summer. It is not too late to get your child signed up for camp. Let Kimber or Ada know and they will get you an application.
Since this is mostly an information letter to you from me, let me remind you that every year our Regional Minister and President, Dr. Glen Stewart sponsors a mission trip to Haiti in January. The next one will be January 4-12, 2002. If you are interested in seeing what our missionaries are doing in Haiti and meet other Christians who live there and work on a church project with other Haitians, let me know. You will find this trip to be extremely informational and spiritually uplifting.
This Sunday let us hear the words of the Lord as He invites us to "Come, let us worship together."

NOTES OF APPRECIATION
Dear Church Family,
Sunday, June 3, the occasion of my retirement as your associate pastor, was a memorable day for Jane and me. The abundant preparation and service of food by our ladies, the unexpectedly large group which remained after worship, the gracious words of Scott, Brenda and Thom, and Bill Parks, as well as the thoughtful cards and generous gifts attached to the money tree, combined for a wonderful page in our memory book.
Thank you for allowing me to serve as your associate pastor and for the ministry that we can share together in the future life of our Decatur family.
Bob
I’ll like to express my appreciation to each of you for the many prayers and cards at the time of my tests. I am waiting for the results – so keep me in your prayers. Your love and concern mean a lot to me.
Robbie Jacobs
Dear Members of Decatur-Trinity,
We wish to thank each of your for your prayers, memorials, cards, phone calls, food and visits during Mae Anderson’s illness. Special thanks to Dr. Pricer and Rev. Williams for all their help. We know you all made her last days easier to bear with your thoughtful kindness. She loved her church and each one of you.
With grateful hearts and Christian love, the family thanks you. God bless each one.
Sincerely,
John Macier, Lillian & Joe Williams, Dorothy Lovrien
My Dearest Church Family,
In February of 1989 I sent out the first plea, please pray for Luther and you did!! Many of you have told me, "I just leave Luther on my prayer list." Thank you all for every one of those prayers.
Thank you all for your calls, visits, cards and food. Thanks to Bro. Scott and Bro. Bob for their faithfulness to him and to our family. Our lives are forever enriched because we are a part of you. Love to all of you,
The Luther Coley Family
