1969 Chevrolet Camaro

Revell's 1969 Yenko Camaro. I really enjoyed building this kit. Build time was 3 months, thats a miricle for me. This kit has been changed in quite a few areas. A AMT 1995 Corvette EFI engine and transmission, 6 speed manual,was used, with full wiring detail. As the engine had an air conditioning compressor allready on it, i saw fit to put air con into the Camaro. All air con lines have been fitted, a receiver drier made from a rear shocker from the parts box.Condenser with an electric fan has also been fitted.

All badges and door handles have been removed. Bumpers have been colour coded. Panit colour is GMH Gunmetal Grey, in automotive acrylics with clear coats and a polishing kit was used.

Underside has had a modified Corvette and Camaro exhaust system added. Solder was also used for part of the exhaust.

Wheels came from Monograms 86 Monte Carlo SS, front tyres from the Yenko Camaro, rears tyres from the Monte Carlo.

In building this model I tried to blend classic Camaro styling with all the features of a modern car. I really like the finished result. I hope you do too.
