!1941 Willy's Pickup

This is my model of a 1941 Willy's pick up, built pro street style. As you can see, the old Revell kit has come a long way. It took aprox. 2 and 1/2 years to build, back in about 1990. Not much of the Revel kit was used, most of the driveline came from a Monogram pro stock drag car, and is fully wired and detailed. The rear section of the chassis was made from brass rect. tubing, that was soldered together for strength. I even converted this one to right hand drive and the pick up bed is real aluminium. Rear tyres are the favorite sprint car small rear tyres, even the transmission tunnel and Lenco shifter made its way into the cab. Paint is in automotive acrylic, "gun metal grey" This is one of my favorite models and everyone comments on it when on display.
