-Gunslinger Synopsis-
Roland Deschain, son of Steven, last of the line of Eld, last of the Gunslingers is after the man in black. The one Roland has searched so long for is Walter o' Dim, the same man who seduced his mother and sent him into an early test, the gunslinger test. Roland wins with the help of David the falcon, but the price it pays on his life is great. Roland's father is enraged and his mother is unstable. This though is a tale for another day.
After trailing Walter through the emense desert Roland finds himself at a waystation. Unknown to him a child looks on in fear as he draws close. This child is Jake Chambers, son of Elmer, lost and confused. Roland earns the boys trust and brings him along in his journey. All the boy can remember is dieing and waking up in this confused world.
Soon the travlers happen upon a mountain range, the man in black has fled under them by an underground railway. The two find themselves rolling along on an old hand run platform. Terrible creatures hide in the darkness of the mountains, slow mutants ready and willing to snatch the flesh off of a child's bones. Roland and Jake hurry along after the man in black, but Ka shifts like the wind.
Roland is forced to decide, save the boy or continue on to the tower. Jake drops into the dark waters below the mountain, returning home. Roland takes up the trail once again finding what he has been searching for. The man in black waits for Roland, they hold palaver... Roland falls asleep for a hundred years.
