DT: When and why the band was formed?.
Taipan: ORCUSTUS was formed late '01/ early '02. The other guys heard some of my old material and liked it a lot so we decided to use those old songs and record them as a demo. It was a mutual interest to perform this kind of Black Metal with our line-up.

DT: Why the name of ORCUSTUS?.
Taipan: It was DIRGE REP's idea to use ORCUSTUS. We had been searching for a suiting name for a while when he came up with that idea, so we asked BÅRD FAUST who used that name on his magazine in the early days and he was perfectly ok with that. Why? It's a good name with a great meaning. (Hell!)

DT: Youre fave beer?.
Taipan: HANSA, I guess. Beer from Bergen.

DT: Your current line up? and the former members?. Tell me about the other bands of the members.
Taipan: Our line-up is: DIRGE REP (drums), INFERNUS (bass), TORMENTOR (guitars) and me, TAIPAN (vox). ORCUSTUS has no former members. INFERNUS is in GORGOROTH, TORMENTOR will lay down the bass for GAAHLSKAGG, DIRGE REP will probably do some drums for both GAAHLSKAGG and NATTEFROST soon and I might play some drums for GRAVEYARD CUNT and do some guest-vocals for several bands.

DT: Are you friends with ASGEIR MICKELSSON?.
Taipan: No.

DT: Do you like the old Heavy Metal?.
Taipan: Not much, but I like the classic bands like JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, BLACK SABBATH etc. 

DT: Why TORMENTOR left GORGOROTH?.
Taipan: He left out of personal reasons. It's not for me to go into details on this matter.

DT: What do you think about ELIPHAS LEVY?.
Taipan: Don't know his work well enough to offer an opinion on him.

DT: Why INFERNUS left BORKNAGAR?
Taipan: I'm not sure, but I think he didn't like the way their music was developing. 

DT: BIG BIRD is your idol?.
Taipan: Who the fuck is that?

DT: Do you know SPIRAL ARCHITECT?.
Taipan: I don't know them personally, but I think I heard them many years ago. Some kind of technical Prog - Metal, if my memory serves me right.

DT: How do you know INFERNUS?, he is te current Guitar Player of GORGOROTH?.
Taipan: We just started hanging out when I moved to Bergen in 2001 and became good friends. Yes, he is the current guitarist and only original member in GORGOROTH.

DT: Do you know who is Reverend AL SHARPTON?.
Taipan: I've heard his name many times, but my knowledge on him is minimal.

DT: Your Drummer DIRGE REP played on bands like 122STAB WOUNDS, AURA NOIR, DESSPO HALLELUJAH, NEETZACH, but tell us why DIRGE REP left ENSLAVED (1997 - 2003) and GEHENNA (1993 - 1997)?.
Taipan: I think he left GEHENNA because of too many arguments, but I'm not sure. He left ENSLAVED because he didn't like touring and he wanted to play Black Metal instead.

DT: What do you know about VINCENT CROWLEY and MARILYN MANSON?.
Taipan: VINCENT CROWLEY is the guy from ACHERON, right? I know he has been deeply involved in CHURCH OF SATAN and is a Priest there. Anyway, I used to like ACHERON a lot many years ago. Everyone knows who MARILYN MANSON is, I guess, and it seems like it is very popular to hate him for Black Metal people. Seems like people are starting to forget about him nowadays, though.

DT: What is the gender of PIKACHU?.
Taipan: I don't know. Who/what is PIKACHU?

DT: What do you think about RED HARVEST?.
Taipan: I like them a lot. Nice people and good music.

DT: What doy ou think about Finnish Black Metal scene do you like HORNA? ... do you know LUCHO HORNA?.
Taipan: The first BEHERIT and IMPALED NAZARENE releases fucking rule! I'm not very familiar with the current scene there, but I recently heard HORNA and they sounded quite ok. LUCHO HORNA?. 

DT: Are you into drugs?.
Taipan: Not really.

DT: What do you think about ANTON SZANDOR LA VEY?.
Taipan: He appeared to be a very intelligent man, but I'm not a follower of his teachings.

DT: Are you friend with ANN FRESTAD?.
Taipan: No.

DT: Do you like H.P. LOVECRAFT?.
Taipan: Some of his writings are good, yes.

DT: Tell us about your Demo 2002. Is available?.
Taipan: The Demo 2002 contains three tracks of raw and Necro Black Metal. It was pressed in 1000 copies which is now sold out.

DT: Do you like MORTIIS?
Taipan: I don't know him as a person, but I don't like his music.

DT: Are you into INNER CIRCLE?. Tell us about the Anti Semitic Community.
Taipan: There exists no INNER CIRCLE and I have no knowledge of any Anti Semitic Community.

DT: Do you like drink blood with piss?.
Taipan: Yes, of course. Don't you?

DT: Do you have STAR WARS action figures?.
Taipan: No. Do you?

DT: What do you think about ALEISTER CROWLEY, do you read THE BOOK OF THE LAW?.
Taipan: I've only read parts of it a long time ago, so it's no use in me commenting on it. Even though I'm not a follower of his either, he definitely had some interesting thoughts and ideas.
