Interview for DEATHTHRASHER MAGAZINE by ARMANDO MUTILATOR:
DT: Hello CADAVERIA, how are you?.
Cadaveria : Fine, thanks! We are making some live dates to promote Far Away From Conformity album and all feedbacks are very positive!
DT: What memories do you have of OPERA IX?.
Cadaveria : Memories of my adolescence… Actually I'm totally concentrated on my new band, I don't refuse my past, but three years have passed and two albums has been produced by now and Opera IX appears so far.
DT: What was the actual reason regarding your departure from OPERA IX?.
Cadaveria : There were deep ideological and musical divergences between me and Flegias on a side and the rest of the band on the other side. Instead of loosing time in useless discussions we preferred to leave the band and to use our energies to create music with a new line-up.
DT: Talk me about the cult album "The Shadows' Madame" (2002).
Cadaveria : It was CADAVERIA debut album, composed and recorded with the fresh atmosphere of a new band, but with the consciousness of how the metal scene works. It allowed us to be known world-wide collecting a long series of positive reviews. But now it is the time for Far Away From Conformity, an album where the sound is more personal, where our musical intents are totally expressed.

DT: How does the writing in CADAVERIA?. How about lyrics?.
Cadaveria : The music was born from some recordings I did during one year on a portable tape recorder… Many of those melodies became guitar riffs with the co-operation of Frank Booth and Flegias (Marcelo Santos). We met first to define the general songs' structure, then to unite lyrics to the music, then we started the pre-production and finally the real recording process. Also this time we used Frank's studios, Capt. Woofer, the same where we recorded our 1st album, but we used a more advanced recording system, half analogic, half digital. The mixing was totally done on PC by John, our bass player.
While the music is the result of a collective work of all the band members, I'm the only responsible of the lyrics. The deal with myself, with what is around and inside me, with my personality. They can be defined apocalyptic considerations about existence, crazy stories about my dreams and nightmares, hermetic notes about my twisted memory and my complicated essence.
DT: What can you tell me about DYNABYTE?.
Cadaveria : DyNAbyte exists since 1998, but I started singing with them only two years ago. The line-up features me (voice), John at the bass and LJ Dusk at the guitars. Drum and keyboards are totally programmed by LJ Dusk on PC. I can surely say we play a unique music..! DyNAbyte style is very innovative and eclectic… just imagine a mix of Fear Factory and Led Zeppelin! Beware, our debut album will be out in May 2004! More info at
www.dynabyte.it
DT: CADAVERIA, which of your 2 bands is more important, CADAVERIA or DYNABYTE?.
Cadaveria : They are two separate identities I cannot compare. CADAVERIA is the mirror of my essence, DyNAbyte is an important experience that is opening my mind. I trust both.
DT: Tell us about the your work with SCARLET RECORDS please.
Cadaveria : What can I say. We just sign for the 1st album and, one year ago, we decided to sign also for the second one. Considering Scarlet is a growing label, we hope they will promote CADAVERIA in the right way.
DT: Talk me about the work with 2 legends like JOHN and FELGIAS from NECRODEATH.
Cadaveria : A hard and funny work made of notes, sweat, beer and laughs… They are great!
DT: What can you talk me about the Master Piece "Far Away From Conformity" (2004)?.
Cadaveria : It's the revolution of metal sound!
DT: What do you know about South American Scene (bands, Magazines...).
Cadaveria : I think your scene is great! I see so many fans from there leaving a message on the guestbook of our website! I know there are many people who love us! So thank you all!!!
DT: Your fave Italian food?.
Cadaveria : Pizza.
DT: Do you like RAZA DE ODIO?.
Cadaveria : Not bad, really!
DT: Are you friends with the current OPERA IX?.
Cadaveria : I have not seen them since 2001.
DT: Your 10 faves albums from all the times?.
Cadaveria : Killers, Don't Break the Oath, Slaughter of the Souls, Lateralus, Postorgasmic Chill, The Sound of Perseverance, Holy Wood (In The Shadow Of The Valley…), Mutter… and so on….
