Interview for DEATHTHRASHER MAGAZINE by ARMANDO MUTILATOR : 

DT: Hi SNAKES, How are you my friend?.
Snakes: Well, actally, I'm fine.

DT: When did you start playing?.
Snakes: Quite late, I guess, when I was about 18.

DT: Your current line -up?.
Snakes: Ibanez RG1520GK w/ Midi Pickup, ENGL Fireball, several BOSS FX, Roland GR30 Guitar Synth and Pickboy 1mm Picks.

DT: Youre fave beer?.
Snakes: Would be BECKS if you please...

DT: What do you think about wearing chains, blood, make - up and all that stuff is important for you image?.
Snakes: No, I don't think so. We try to stay in the backround, you know, like the invisible force BEHIND PHILOSOPHER :-). One should concentrate on the music, though we're doing a pretty heavy live show, but not so much blood 'n' chains on that though...

DT: Tell me about the your influences.
Snakes: There a several. Mostly MORBID ANGEL, DEATH, OPETH, BOLT THROWER and many others.

DT: H.P. LOVECRAFT or STEPHEN KING?.
Snakes: Easy. HPL. Though I like some of the KING Stuff too...

DT: Your musical productions?.
Snakes: Until now we released two, one "first demo", which is sold out and our "what dwells beyond" EP, which is still available. We're recording our first Album this year, so watch out for this !

DT: Your best German band from ever?.
Snakes: Not so Easy. There's good stuff from MORGOTH, OBSCENITY, FLESHCRAWL. And DISILLUSION, they're quite cool.

DT: Do you like the old Heavy Metal?.
Snakes: Sure we do. At least some of the good old stuff, I prefer KING DIAMOND and MERCYFUL FATE for their Atmosphere.

DT: What do you think about the Norwegian Black Metal Scene?.
Snakes: I don't have any relations to that, really. 

DT: What topics do you consider in your lyrics?.
Snakes: Our lyrics are very much inspired by the certain atmosphere that overwhelms us when we read Lovecraftian texts. We deal a lot with LOVECRAFT - related, though we do not steal from his texts.

DT: Do you prefer PROTECTOR or TANKARD?.
Snakes: I heard some old PROTECTOR last week as a matter of fact, and I guess I'd prefer them before TANKARD, but that's not really my kind of music, either.

DT: Do you know who is Reverend AL SHARPTON?.
Snakes: No, should I? 

DT: Your fave German food?.
Snakes: Food? That reminds me of...eating? 

DT: Are you into Dog Fights? do you like AMERICAN PITBULLS?.
Snakes: I don't like Dog Fights at all. In fact I don't even like fighting.

DT: Have you ever seen the movie "LA FUGA DEL CHACAL"?.
Snakes: I believe not, but maybe if you told me the english subtitle?

DT: What do you think about Hardcore / Punk?... do you like bands like THE EXPLOITED, VARUKERS, RAMONES, CHAOS UK?.
Snakes: Long ago I was a bit into such music, and there's still some good Old school HC I believe, but I'm not into Punk at all.

DT: What can you talk me about EP. 
Snakes: It's just great for a self-released, we're really satisfied with this second on, just listen to the MP3s on our homepage. We got a lot of really good reviews, and they're almost sold out, so thanks for the interest, and if you don't have one, buy it, you really should. So far for the commercial break, though! :-)

DT: What is the gender of PIKACHU?.
Snakes: I guess it's multisexual or something.

DT: Are you into gore movies?.
Snakes: Quite a bit, but I like the classical Horror stuff much more. Thing is there's nothing scary about all this butchering, is it?

DT: Do you like POWER RANGERS?.
Snakes: Not at all. 

DT: Do you drink lemonade with piss?.
Snakes: Don't we all?

DT: WALTER MERCADO was the first PHILOSOPHER's dummer?.
Snakes: Not exactly. PHILOSOPHER's drummer was, is and hopefully will be for aeons of existence, MR. CHRISTOPH WEILBACH.

DT: How do you feel about keyboards in Death Metal, like NOCTURNUS?. They are a influence for you?.
Snakes: NOCTURNUS are of influence to us for sure, I like them very much, though we're using a guitar synth instead of keyboards, which pleases us more.

DT: What do you know about South American Scene?.
Snakes: Unfortunately not as much as we would like to...

DT: Do you prefer HORNA or IMPALED NAZARENE? ... do you know LUCHO HORNA?.
Snakes: I never heard of HORNA and I don't like IN so much.

DT: Are you into Tennis?... do you play Tennis with the members of HORNA?.
Snakes: I guess I would, though I hardly may hit the ball...

DT: Are you into drugs?. Are you crazy for cocaine?.
Snakes: Not at the moment, thanks.

DT: Do you prefer GIGER or SORAYAMA?.
Snakes: Depends. They both got their moments, though I'm not into airbrush so much. I'd prefer ERNST FUCHS or H. BOSCH....

DT: What do you think about the Swedish Death Metal Scene?..
Snakes: In fact I don't like the guitar sound of most of the Bands. Exceptions are DISMEMBER, BLOOD BATH and of course OPETH.

DT: GOTHENBURG or FLORIDA?.
Snakes: FLORIDA with a capital F L O R I D A !!!!

DT: Do you like weapons?.
Snakes: Do you like pain?

DT: Are you friends with JORG BOCK from MINOTAUR?.
Snakes: I'm afraid I never heard of....

DT: What do you think about ANTON SZANDOR LA VEY?.
Snakes: Interesting. But not as interesting as others, sometimes his writingsappear as were they a book of law for teenage kids or something.

DT: Do you have STAR WARS action figures?.
Snakes: Not yet.

DT: Do you prefer MACINTOSH or PC?.
Snakes: Mac.

DT: What do you think about ALEISTER CROWLEY, do you read THE BOOK OF THE LAW?.
Snakes: Well, yes I read some of his writings and actually, I'm still stuck in the most of them for a matter of time.

DT: Tell me about the incident with the PIG GLAMFAG RIP OFF Chiristian Paucar.
Snakes: He just made an entry in our guestbook, so we wrote an email or two and sent him oúr latest promo complete with stickers and stuff. Then we heard he's a rip off. Our curses are upon him. People like him destroy the underground.

DT: Your future plans?.
Snakes: Making the best first album we're able to, playing several gigs, maybe a tour next year. We were asked to join BENEDICTION on their forthcoming Europe-Tour, but unfortunately at the time we were in the studio, maybe we'll see the guys later...
