Mass Transit:
Trailways of New York 800 776-7548
Has bus service from the Port Authority in Manhattan to Keene Valley and Lake Placid. Leaves at 10:30 and arrives at 5:30. $69 one way.

Amtrack's Adirondack service (800 USA-RAIL) leaves from Penn Station at 8:20 and arrives at Westport at 2:12 with bus service from there to Lake Placid ariving at 3:00
Returning the bus leaves Lake Placid at 12:15 and train arives at Penn Sta at 8:35 - $87 one way.
