Laws - Commandments:

    Sins:
    • Seven Deadly Sins - Used in early Christian teachings, but Not listed in the Bible. Probably developed by the monk, Evagrius Ponticus, who had moved to Egypt in the 4th century and codified In 590 A.D. by Pope Gregory.
      Extravagance, (later lust), Gluttony, Greed, Sloth (apathy, depression, and joylessness), Wrath, Envy, and Pride.
    • Acts of a sinful nature. Gal 5:19-20, 1 John 2:16
      Idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.
    • There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: [Prov 6:16-19]
        haughty eyes, [pride is the foundation for sin]
        a lying tongue,
        hands that shed innocent blood,
        a heart that devises wicked schemes,
        feet that are quick to rush into evil,

    Miracles:
    The four gospels record about thirty-five separate miracles Jesus performed.

    • The Resurrection of Lazarus (John 11:1-44)
    • Healing of a Demon-possessed Man (Luke 8:26-39)
    • Healing of a leper (Matt 8:1-4)
    • Healing of a blind man (John 9:1-32)
    • A man brings his mute son and asks Jesus if he can heal him. Jesus says "Everything is possible for him who believes."; The man says "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"; and Jesus heals the boy. [Mark 9:17-29]

    • Second Comming - End Times:
      Matthew 24
      • You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. [Matthew 24:6-8]
      • And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. [Matthew 24:14]
      • Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. [Matthew 24:40-41]
    • When the Son of Man comes in his glory,...He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left....Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world....     • Luke 21:5-38 is sometimes listed as a "Second Coming" passage, but most think it refers to the Roman overthrow of Jerusalem in 70 AD, since it says it will occur in his generation.
    • "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." [Acts 1:11]
    • But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.
      ... But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. [2 Peter 3:8-14]
    • Revelations:
      • After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne. ... In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. lion, ox, face like a man, a flying eagle. [Revelations 4:1-11]
      • They are spirits of demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle ... the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon. [Revelations 16:13-16]
      • The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.
