Binghamton Road They light my way Bonfires on the horizon, signal lamps of old Marking my path The sky glows above me A thousand sparks on the road Turns marked in red and white Bathed in light I drive on The road stretches before me My companions are few Piercing the darkness Travellers share my path for a time Globes of light pushing back the blackness We pass in the night I drive on The stars glitter above me Turn overhead they stare Watching me from above Do they care? I reach out to touch them They glitter out of reach I drive on The hills are dark now No sparks mark my path The horizon beckons - black on black Where are those lighthouses now? The road winds before me Clouds roll in overhead I drive on alone
