Performance & Functionality
2001

There are those who have much more impactful performance mod than these, but I'm just starting so this is real progress for me!  At some point there will be cold air intake and shock upgrades, but for now ...

An electronic brake controller was a necessity before we towed the horse trailer. If you got the tow package, the wiring harness should be in your storage compartment. It clipped into a matching receptacle above and to the left of the brake pedal. This controller is a Drawtite. ($120.00 installed - Cap World)

Had to stop that wind noise and the rain from coming in.  Try this cool experiment - before wind deflectors.  Drive at highway speed then open ONE rear window.  Feels like the whole truck is shaking apart!

The product of choice "Weatherflectors" by Weathertech. The second picture shows a close-up of how the deflector fits "inside" the channel of the window making for a very clean line.   You can also see the light color which reduces the blind spot.  ($114.00 Trick Trucks - order them on-line for only $85.00 at http://www.macneilauto.com)

Now to stop the sun from beating in on the dash and making the whole truck hot - Mopar sunshade did the trick.  A perfect fit. ($61.00 Herb-Gordon Dodge)

Mudguards are a necessity when towing to keep rocks and debris from hitting the trailer. It also keeps the bumper area cleaner.  We ordered rears only because the fronts are a bit difficult to fit with stock running boards.

Mopar molded guards.  Might paint the Ram's Head later just for fun. ($32.00 Herb-Gordon Dodge)

Under the hood - a K&N flat replacement Hi-Flow filter. ($52.00 Triangle Autoparts)

Comes complete with a handy sticker to alert your lube-joint that they shouldn't mess with it.  I still check when they are done, as they say "trust everyone in the game but always count the cards."
