STREET SCENE GRILL & VALENCE INSERTS

These inserts will really dress up the front of your "D" and require no drilling or cutting into your grill or valence.  You must drill one hole into the hood latch.  I chose chrome however they come in brushed aluminum finish also.

So now you want it right!

That's easy too.  DOC sponsor Automotive Accessories Connection offers all DOC'ers special pricing.  Their site gives the information for th brushed aluminum but they will sell you chrome as well. Use the following numbers for the chrome version:

95078605 Main Grill     155.95

95078613 Valence          78.95

And if you want to see how to install, here's the scoop on how we did it:

The set comes with very good instructions.  As long as you read carefully and take your time, it is pretty simple.

We'll start with the valence as this was more difficult on TRAVELER since we have the Heavy Duty Group.  Those extra coolers give you very little room to work.

The package comes complete with the four inserts and the 16 clips needed to secure them.  Each section is clearly labeled as to its position, i.e. driver's side left.

The process is simply to:

~ remove the white location label
~ insert the piece into its proper place
~ place 2 clips on the top and 2 clips on the   bottom according to the directions.

The difficult part is the lack of room back there.  Some have installed these by reaching up from beneath and behind the valence to secure the clips.

Unfortunately, there is a plastic shield beneath ours and removing it made this too much trouble. We reached down and behind.

The picture to the right is your view if facing the D and looking down behind the valence.

When it's done, this is how it looks from far away.
