I have compiled a list of the artist materials that I use 24/7, which are well worth your dollars. All of the following items can be found at: www.michaels.com and www.dickblick.com
Wacom tablet and adobephotoshop from amazon.com

I also included the list prices in US dollars! I am not selling these myself!

One of the most important drawing staples is a mechanical pencil with 0.5 lead. 0.7 is too thick, and smears easy. I use this Sanford one. ^_^.

It features an eraser that you can pull out when it becomes stubby. The top pulls off so that you can refill your lead without trouble.

General's Kneaded Eraser
Erasers provided with Mechanical pencils are only half decent! Kneaded rubber erasers do not produce "Eraser Poop" (recall brushing your paper for the eraser poop after erasing.) Kneaded erasers last forever, and do not damage paper. They can be used to highlight, lighten a sketch....and can be used with a variety of mediums.

Pigma Micron Pen Set (3)
Microns are among the BEST inking tools that I have come across. They have a firm point, and fast drying waterproof pigment ink. Also, they do not clog and make nasty blots on your work. I frequently use sizes .005, 01, and 08 (<--for shadows)
Set of three: $7.99USD
Curves!
French Curves (3)
French curves are fantastic for inking tough curves...don't have a steady inking hand? I was tired of bumpy, screwed up lineart as well. This French curve set of three comes with the three most popular sizes. Work will for making background designs as well.

BY FAR my favorite paper. 120 sheets, 9x12, high quality paper! I use this pad for pretty much everything. It even takes markers good, as long as you have something beneath your work. The best part? Each pad is only:
