Five Steps to Breathing for a More Efficient Freestyle

1. Exhale all air before turning your head to breathe.

2. Turn your head when the opposite side hand touches the water.

3. When turning your head to breathe, rotate your chin toward your shoulder.

4. Bring your mouth just high enough to clear the water.

5. Establish a relaxed breathing pattern that minimizes head movement.

*When not breathing, keep your head in line with your body – no swinging back & forth!
