What you will need

An old rear bumper

Strong plastic adhesive

Bumper filler

Spray Paint

This guide will take you through how to make a small Golf front bumper without a number plate recess.

  1. Remove the bumper from the car

  2. Cut off the part of the number plate recess which sticks out the bottom.

  3. Cut a section from middle of the old rear bumper which will fit into the gap where the number plate recess was. Use the strong plastic glue to bond it together. Use the bumper filler to smooth the join over.

  4. Get some plastic filler primer and spray the bumper once you have given it a good sand down to smooth off any imperfections. Apply a few coats of this and then apply a grey primer. Finish it off with some satin black paint. All these items will be found at a Halfords Store.

  5. Relocate the number plate below the bumper using metal brackets.

It will then look like this;
