Newsies-The Movie

Poster Ad

"In 1899, the streets of New York City echoed with the voices of Newsies, peddlin' the newspapers of Joseph Pulitzer, William Randolph Hearst, and other giants of the newspaper world. On every corner you saw'em carrying the banner, bringing you the news for a penny a pape. Poor orphans and runaways, they were a ragged army without a leader. Until one day, all that changed...."

Summary:July, 1899: When Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst raise the distribution price of newspaper by ten cents per hundred, the newsboys- poor enough already- are outraged. Inspired by the strike put on by the trolley workers, Jack "Cowboy" Kelly organizes a newsboys' strike. With David Jacobs as the brains of the new union and Jack as the voice, the weak and opressed find the strength to band together and challenge the powerful in this rollicking Walt Disney Musical.

But why do I tell you this? I'm sure you already know it. Hehe.

I love the movie cuz of the dancing and singing and the hott boys in it, hehe. I finally got the english version from Mayhem from the Newsies Mailing List. She's german, too, but she had the english tape and copied it for me, so now I have the pleasure to watch the original! YEHAAA!

And here's the cast of Newsies:

Newsies

Good guys who aren't Newsies

Bad guys

That's not all, but I'm sure that you're not interested in the name of the producer's hairdresser!

The movie is defenitely not a typical Disney movie, but it's very good. So if you haven't already watched it, do it now! It's a really cool experience! It's full of jokes, and good dancing and singing scenes.
