Ducar in, Then out

North Andover's Tracy Noonan Ducar, not invited to the first two U.S. National Team training camps by new coach April Heinrichs, actually did make it to the second camp. Heinrichs called in Ducar after World Cup keeper Brianna Scurry went down with an injury.

However, Heinrichs decided to take two youngsters, Siri Mullinix (21 years old) and Jen Branam (19), to the Algarve Cup in Portugal, leaving Ducar and another World Cup veteran, Saskia Webber, at home.

Such news doesn't bode well for Ducar's Olympic aspirations, nor does the fact that the U.S. is 2-0 so far in Algarve Cup play with Mullinix and Branam allowing one goal between them.

Goalkeeping, however, is a position where experience usually trumps youth, so it's a little early to count out the veterans for the Sydney Olympics
