Royal Red Hats of Windsor Guidelines

Dear Royal Red Hats Of Windsor:

Here is all the information you may want to know regarding our society. This is a long announcement so you may want to print it out for future reference.

As you can see by my salutation....we are known officially as  “
The Royal Red Hats Of Windsor”.  Boy, doesn’t that sound important.....and regal too!   We decided on a name that would say who and what we are and also a name that would differentiate ourselves from the Red Hat groups in Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, and Petaluma.  Now, this does not mean that you have to live in Windsor to become a member......all are welcome!

Registering Our Chapter With The National Society

It was decided at our yearly membership meeting, January 2004, to once again register our chapter with the National Red Hat Society. The yearly fee for this is $35.00. In turn, the Red Hat Society will send us a certificate of membership along with  membership cards, and will list our Royal Red Hat Society of Windsor on their web site as a registered member. Anyone new to our area looking for a Red Hat chapter will be able to better find us. In addition, anyone in our group can attend the National Red Hat Society convention held yearly. We will vote at our annual membership meeting each January whether to re-register or not.

Registering with "The Royal Red Hats of Windsor"

When you register as a member of The Royal Red Hats Of Windsor and pay your dues, I will also need your full name, address, telephone number, e-mail, the day and month of your birth and your "AKA" (see explanation below) If you are a domestic goddess, employed, retired, a roller blader, pet lover, or a world traveler...........we would love to know! This list will be compiled into a membership directory by Mad Hatter for everyone. This will help us all to keep in better touch  with the chance to contact one another outside of our functions........maybe to do other things together.

Also Known As.........AKA's

Besides knowing each other by our first names, many Red Hatters have chosen an AKA. We have some very clever woman in our group with AKA's such as Red Hat Mama, Red Bonnet Boop, Royal Viking, DeColores Judy, RubyTuesday, and of course my AKA is "Queen Bee".

Gro
up Size and Attire

We have decided to limit membership in our group to 30 ladies. You must be at least 50 years old and when you attend one of our functions, you must wear a purple outfit and a red hat.  If you are under 50 years old, you must wear a lavender outfit and a pink hat.  There are several reasons we wanted to
limit the size of our group.  We want to be more organized in our planning and outings.  We all wanted to get to know one another on a more personal level and felt we could do this in a smaller group. We also felt it would be easier to meet in a smaller group at restaurants and homes.

Meeting
s

We meet monthly (except for July and August) because it was felt not everyone is going to make every function. So if you miss a month, it will only be another month before we meet again. We feel this will keep the society running smoothly and better keep us connected as a group, as well as not having to wait too long before we see each other again.

Please note that we plan on  meeting on the second Friday of every month, except of course during July and August. All meeting times are at12 noon. You'll also notice that sometimes we meet at a designated spot outside the restaurant. We will wait 15 minutes, until 12:15 for everyone to show up. Then we usually sashay ourselves into the restaurant. If it's raining, we will meet inside the restaurant lobby at 12 noon. You will be reminded of all of our events one month before with a follow-up two weeks before. You will need to let either the Queen Bee ,or the Royal Red Hatter in charge of arrangements, if you will be joining us. They will need at least a one week notice so that they can make reservations and arrangements with the restaurants for tables and seating. You will pay for your lunch the day of the event unless otherwise noted. Please bring exact change for your bill and tip. During each function, there will be a short meeting where we will all join together and read our poem "Warning"  followed by any announcements and the introduction of new members or guests.

Well my dear fellow Red Hat sisters,
You can see this is basically a "meet and eat" group of ladies who want to get to know one another better. I have tried to keep things simple and easy for all concerned. I feel the purpose of our get together is sisterhood and the focus will be to establish long and lasting friendships. Where we meet and what we do, whether at a restaurant or someone's home is just the foundation of our main focus.

Everyone's input is always welcome. It is important to me that every suggestion be considered. My main goal as Queen Bee is to have a chapter that is well organized. One in which we will know about our next planned event well in advance as well as having a web site that is kept up to date with recent event happenings, photos, and announcements. Please refer any prospective members to this site for updates and functions.

                                            Remember, Red Hatters Matter!
