Cho flips the page of a Defense Against Dark Arts book and suddenly seems to have taken the last bit of it that she can stand and closes it and pushes it aside. Not her best class. She looks at the two other books she has nearby (Herbology and Potions) and opts to grab the Potions books.

Lezard strides into the library, his dark gray eyes glancing about. Ah good, Pince is nowhere to be found. He's had enough of that sour old lady. The Assistant Professor places a book on the reception desk to return it. He seems to have a lot of time on his hands since Snape doesn't seem to like to have the younger man as his assistant.

One would probably assume Snape doesn't like assistants of any kind. But perhaps that's just a side-observation. Cho looks down at the book and suddenly realizes she has the wrong one. With a shake of her head, she chides herself silently on not paying attention, and stands up to go looking, when she spots the assistant professor (she's heard and seen him in the halls and at the faculty table most likely, but...). She seems to consider something, then walks over and asks with a polite smile, "Professor?"

Lezard adjusts his glasses and smiles at the young student, "Yes? May I help you young miss?" His voice is a bit... odd, unusually high but distinctively male with a slight edge of what may be insanity but a soft British accent. Despite that, and his green clothing that looks like something the main character in an adventuring fantasy novel would be wearing and the cape with the tattered ends, he seems normal enough... maybe.

Cho continues to offer that smile, though once he looks close enough, there's a distant look in her eyes that make the expression appear faked. Or at least not as sincere as it appears at first glance. "I need help with a Potion. I'm trying to make a sleeping drought, but I seem to be getting the ingredients wrong. If you're not too busy, of course."

Lezard asks, "Of course not." His smile seems sincere enough, but then again with Lezard, one never knows. "A sleeping drought eh? Of what sort and potency may I ask?"

Lezard hrms quietly, "Do you have your lists with you? Perhaps I may be able to do something about it. Though I do not personally work with sleeping droughts much. Was this assigned by Snape?" He has little love for the greasy looking man himself actually and pushes his glasses up his nose. Then again, the alchemist has little love any thing other than his books, power and his goddess.

Reaching into her school robes, Cho pulls out a few pieces of paper with a couple different types of potions and holds it out. When he asks about Snape she pauses noticeably, "Um, no. It's a.. personal project." And from the reluctance in her voice, it seems it's something she'd rather not go into. )

Lezard asks, "A personal project eh?" He takes the sheets of paper and skims through it, the light glinting from his glasses, "7 hours you say? And dreamless... What other effects? Perhaps something to make the drinker look as if dead?"

Dark eyes jerk upwards as he says the last bit. "Dead?" There's a tone of shock. Cho shakes her head after a moment, black hair spilling around and catching on her shoulders, "No. Just dreamless sleep for seven hours that will leave the person feeling rested. And something that can be taken often without having ill effects would be nice too."

Lezard nods, "Of course." He smirks, his sharp ears hearing the shock, "Oh come now. Don't be like that. Feigned death is rather popular among sleeping potions. Very well. Come along. I may have something in my study that might be your answer."

Cho nods again, "Feigned death isn't what I'm going for with this." She says, feeling a little silly for making a minor scene over something like that. Again, she nods, "Thank you." And then quickly moves to the table to grab the books she had taken with her and follows after.

Lezard sighs and mutters quietly about not being able to use teleportation spells. They make life so much more convenient.

Lezard's Office

More like a study than an office, this room is Lezard Valeth's office. It seems he has made himself quite at home here at Hogwarts. Tall shelves line the walls, each shelf packed with tomes of every color and size. But that is not all that is present though, not in the slightest. Exotic statues and busts of people and other humanoids are placed around the room in out of the way places, yet still easily seen. On top of the shelves are less exotic items like flasks, vials and jars of different sizes and shapes. Some are empty while others contain specimens of both identifiable and unidentifiable nature. A small table has been set up with a red velvet table cloth covering the top. Several books, flasks and other alchemist tools rest upon it, along with a small celestial globe while an urn that holds wands and other wizardry items rests underneath it. The only source of light comes from the candles placed strategically around the room and a large window, but only when the heavy red velvet curtain is pulled back. A simple chair sits, with its back towards the window, directly in front of it, so that the reader may take full advantage of the sunlight when it is available. A portal to the side leads to a short flight of stairs that go to Lezard's bedchamer.

Cho's eyes look around the study as she entered, looking over the impressive tomes and the other items that deserve some ogling, if she was the ogling type. "You have a very nice study, Professor." she says with the same kind of smile she had in the Library.

Lezard asks, "Thank you. It is the result of a life time's worth of study, research and hunting." He sighs, maybe even a bit wistfully, "But it is nowhere nearly as large as my full collection." He blinks and quickly interjects, "Which is currently elsewhere." He heads over to one of the bookshelves, "Now... Since we are in the privacy of my study, may I ask why you need this potion?"

Cho looks towards the Assistant Professor as he asks that, but looks away before she opens her mouth to respond. "I've.. been having trouble sleeping." She lets out a small sigh, as if she was hoping to avoid an explanation. "I just need a little help getting to sleep." She seems to be trying to make it sound like it's nothing that important really.

Lezard makes a tsking sound as he browses over the hundreds of potions he seems to have stored, "Trouble sleeping eh? Usually troubled sleep is a symbol is unrest in the soul." His back is towards the young student and thusly cannot see her reactions, "Potions aren't always the way. Having nightmares?" He is smirking quietly.

Cho shifts her gaze around many times as he speaks. She suddenly thinks that this was a bad idea. She should have just asked Snape. He probably would have given her a lecture about misusing it, but she has a feeling he would show her the right way just to make a point. "I-- I'd rather just take a potion right now. Thank you." She would like to leave it at that, but... "I've just been having dreams. They're just-- I just want to get sleep and not feel tired all day."

The doors open, so don't worry TOO much. And besides, other than the usual specimens of an avid seeker of knowledge, there isn't anything in here that's TOO freaky. Nope, all of that is hidden elsewhere. He finally selects two bottles of a slight bluish color. "Hrm... Which one I wonder..." He walks over to his table, "What sort of dreams, pray tell?" He uncorks one of the bottles and pours a drop into an appratice on his table, studying the color changing and what not.

Cho's eyes finally return to the Professor and she looks at the bottles. She starts to feel a little more at ease again. Even if he's still asking questions. "About-- what happened here last year." She's pretty sure he's heard some of that story, so hopefully it will be enough.

Lezard blinks, "Last year?" He's new here, "Ahh.... yes. The triwizard competition eh? Heard a young man died from that fellow... Voldemort was it?" He removes the flask of water and replaces it with a new flask with fresh water before repeating the experiment with the other bottle, "Did you know that young man?"

Someone who actually says Voldemort? There's a momentary jerk as the name is actually said, but again, Cho settles down. Her eyes glance off into the distance, not really seeing the objects that happen to be right in front of her. After a few moments, she nods and says, "Yes. We were.. friends."

Lezard says, "ahh.." and he makes another tsking sound, "Not this one..." He returns both bottles to the shelf and selects a third blue bottle, "It is possible to bring him back. I have read of such... techniques. Though it is very difficult and said to have been lost in time."

Cho's voice cracks. "What--? You can-- I thought-- Everyone said--" All the teachers have always said that death was one thing magic could not reverse or heal. To hear someone just... say that it's possible is.. well.. rather surprising. She tries to calm herself, tries to think over this rationally. But a rather irrational sentence finds its voice, "Would-- would he be the same?"

Lezard shrugs, "It would depend on the soul of said person. The spell is called 'Soul Transfusion' namely, transferring the soul of a person into another body. Very difficult and hard to perform I hear." We won't mention the fact that the man has actually DONE this before... not in the slightest.

"Another body?" Suddenly this sounds like something rather.. Dark. Cho shakes her head quickly and says, "No, no. Cedric wouldn't have wanted anything like that. I.. thank you for the thought..." her brow creases, wondering if that's really what she should be saying, but she seems inclined to be polite. "I think I'll just take the sleeping drought fo--" She cuts off. For now, is what she wanted to add, but she squishes down that little selfish thought.

Lezard finishes the sentence, "Now?" He laughs, "As for the other body, this is all of course just theory. Just something I have read in one of my many ancient tomes mind you. I do not even know if it exists since it IS considered one of the lost Magicks. And would be very difficult to cast." He is satisfied with the results from the current bottle and turns back, smiling in his usual manner, "Here is your potion young miss." He holds out the small vial.

Cho takes the vial, though as she does her hand appears to be shaking a little bit. It seems this conversation as wracked her nerves more than they usually have been the last few months. "I-- thank you. For the potion. If you could tell me the ingredients later.." She trails off, and opts to leave while she still can. "Thank you." She backs out of the room.

Lezard says, "Not in the slightest. If you need more, I will be more than happy to mix more for you." He smiles as he pushes up his glasses, "And if you wish to speak more of the Soul transfer, I have a few texts that discuss it, though you must be careful with the pages as they are old." He smirks and turns.
