Heya all,

Since there are album reviews flying around the dude
news columns, I thought I could share a few of my own.
I'm curious to see if any of these words might
persuade someone to actually listen to this stuff.
After all, I guess I'm the lifeline to the underground
over here (hehehe... feel free to disagree...)

DOZER - Madre de Dios (man's ruin/molten universe)
These guys from Sweden have been compared with Kyuss
so many times, that it's not funny anymore. If anyone
actually would take the time to listen to their music,
they would see how far off they are. After all, Dozer
is a typical live band that has grown over the last
couple of years, and their brand of heavy groove rock
is way more up tempo, and a song like "Full Circle"
could even be a radio hit. Can you say that of any of
the Kyuss tracks? Anyway, the vinyl version has a
bonus track.

RIDGE - "... Colombian Supremo" (molten universe)
Also from Sweden, also compared with other bands in
the stoner rock genre. Besides the fact that these
guys might sound a little like Fu Manchu, their
grooves are so thick and heavy that it's not at all
punishment to listen to it. Satisfaction guaranteed!

A5TRO5ONIQ - "son of AP Lady" (freebird)
I mentioned this one before... But never told you what
it exactly is about. Astrosoniq started out as a
practical joke, a fake compilation album suggesting a
vivid rock scene in the industrial hell-hole of Oss
(The Netherlands). But when the were mixing the thing,
they noticed the song material was simply too good to
be used as a joke only. So these veterans of heavy
rock recruited a bass player and vocalist and turned
it into a band.
The opening track comes out of your speakers in a way
no one is used from a beginning sludge or stoner band.
It grabs you by the throat and lifts you across
whatever room you're listening this CD in. Tracks like
"Doomrider" and "Egobooster" give you the same kind of
kick. Weird samples (!) between and during the songs
make this something really really different. They even
recruited someone to operate the self-built Astromizer
on stage (which is hell for most PA guys...).
This album is promoted with the slogan: mix 70's
groove, 80's hard rock and 90's industrial into 21st
century sludge. What else can I say. The artwork alone
makes it worthwhile to buy the album (it looks like a
minitiature gatefold album sleeve...) and the epic
cover version of the 70's classic "Earthquake" top it
off. This band has put heaby groove rock in The
Netherlands on a new level...

OK, I'll be back for more

Pepijn
I am stuck on this CD and I can't get off!  I know what all you sick-o's are thinking.  These guys have the flash look of Monster Magnet and the polished sound that feels like Kid Rock met Sponge.. Trust me, It's all good.  The CD is great work of rock and has a few catchy tunes that will get stuck in your head. Their attempt at ballets even turn into a hard scream from the heart.

Nickelback: Silver Side Up

Usually a follow up to an already great album prove to be a let down, but not in this case.  Nickelback proves again that they are ready for the bigtime. Move over Creed and let a Rock band do it's thing!  This came it just in time, I was wearing the shit out of Saliva. Tracks to really rock to:
How You Remind Me
Woke Up This Morning
To Bad
Money Bought
Unexpected cool song with that Skynyrd kick:
Good times gone.
If you havent bought this CD yet, SHAME ON YOU!
Go Now!!!
