Arthur Hudson & Lizzie Berger

Arthur Hudson was my Grand father, he was born in Minnesota Lake Minnesota 5/21/1878. I don't know that much about him until he married Lizzie Berger 8/5/1908. They got married in Comfrey Minnesota and raised three children . Percy, Victoria, and Harold. I do not know what they did for a living until they moved to Benedict North Dakota somewhere around 1914 - 1919. Arthur was a mail carrier and Lizzie was a homemaker. They had three more children while living there, Leo, Baby Hudson, and Viola. I believe they did some farming as well, with Lizzie's brothers, Al, Bill, Frank and Fred Berger.  As a mail carrier Arthur and the family were snowed in a lot during the winter time , there were times he was snowed in at different farms during storms that the family didn't know at times if he was alive or dead. With that they decided to move to Warba Minnesota in 1923  to try and better themselves.  Arthur bought about 40 acres and farmed it until his death in 1945. They had another child after moving to Minnesota whose name was Ann. I can only tell you about the stories I have been told over the years from family about Arthur. One that sticks out in my mind is that they had potato  crops, cattle, big vegtable gardens, also chickens,ducks, and a family dog . Another story is that he was a fantastic whittler and wood worker.
