Alison
-
Alison, where did you go, girl?
Left me on the dance floor, you said that you'd return.
So Alison, tell me why I now dance alone,
Where did I go wrong with you?
Alison, I thought we really hit it off,
You smiled at me and gave me your name.
But Alison, you know the band returned to the stage,
Why did you not return to the floor?
-
We danced and I watched the lights swim in your lip gloss
I know I won again, so why does this one feel like a loss?
-
Alison, I saw you with that other guy,
Laughing as he held you in his arms.
Then your ride was leaving, you said that you had fun,
Dancing with me briefly, oh Alison.
You made me feel so cheaply, Alison.
This song is a fairly accurate account of an actual experience I had one night at the Blarney Stone. Alison said she'd be back when the band came on again, but she didn't return. Shortly thereafter I found her sitting with a guy's arm wrapped around her. I confronted her before she left, but it was no use.
