Midnight Ride

Something strange has started, blood is painting the sky
Midnight is drawing nearer, never believe official lies
Don't watch the burning clock, or your eyes will fry
Look to your heart instead, is it strong enough to survive?

There's a demonstration coming, will it catch you running, will you see it in time?

Hear the clock it's ticking, above the cries
The streets are filled with looters, already convinced they're gonna die
Somehow you won't give up, till your river's dry
One drop is all that's left, you still wait for help to arrive

There's a revolution blooming, pyrotechnics booming, how will you survive?

Somehow you're convinced that life has just begun
What's the point of thinking that your life is done anyway?
Though the world's chances seem slim to none
You still believe that order will soon replace the disarray

There's a constitution burning, Doomsday's hands are turning, can it still be stopped?

There's a demonstration coming, will it catch you running, will you see it in time?
There's a revolution blooming, pyrotechnics booming, how will you survive?
There's a constitution burning, Doomsday's hands are turning, can it still be stopped?
There's a Global Village rotting, vital lines are clogging is there any hope?

There's an oppurtunity knocking, while the boat is rocking, why not turn around?
There's an oppurtunity knocking, while the boat is rocking, why not turn around?
There's an oppurtunity knocking, while the boat is rocking, why not turn around?

Written shortly after I got my first guitar, this song is simplicity at it's best, three major chords. But not the I-IV-V chords you'd expect. I used E, A and G to give it a minor-key feel. At the time of course, I didn't know what a minor key feel was, it just sounded good. The lyrics clearly show I was looking for a drastic change in my life, which didn't come until much later.
