Streets at Night
(Co-written with Ian Goodman)
-
Sun going down outside my window
And the night is settling in
Open the door into the darkside
Wondering what I'll see tonight
-
Walking the streets at night ---
Walking the streets at night, I don't know what I'll see
Walking the streets at night, there's something calling me
There's something
Killing me
-
All the people in the streets
Chasing forgotten dreams
Will they ever find the way
Or be left out in the rain
-
Walking the streets at night ---
Walking the streets at night, I don't know what I'll see
Walking the streets at night, there's something calling me
There's something
Killing me
Walking the streets at night ---
Walking the streets at night, I don't know what I'll see
Walking the streets at night, there's something calling me
There's something
Killing me
Someone's laughing - oh yeah
Someone's crying - oh no
Someone's loving - oh yeah, yeah, yeah
Someone's dying
There's something
Killing me
-
One of the first songs we ever performed live, Streets at Night received much acclaim from our classmates when we played a "Coffeehouse" evening at Palmer. Ian and I were both on guitar and harmonic vocals, my sister Leora was on bass, and "session player" Bird Vizer agreed grudgingly to play the drums. The experience of being out there and the response we got from classmates and teachers made that night one of the high-lights of my high-school experience, and one of my fondest memories.
