This the last DUI accident that I worked. The young Man driving this vehicle had just finished celebrating his eighteenth birthday. Luckily he escaped without any serious injuries.

This site is dedicated to all that have suffered from the results of Drinking and Driving.
This site is not sponsored by The Meade County Sheriff's Department. This my home site. I built it with help from my experiences both in my job and personal life.
As you can see I have dedicated much time and effort into creating my site. On this page you will find links to sites that have helped me make this one. I ask that you please visit these sites. I have become friends with both Rick and Roberts Father, Jack. 
Let me start by telling you that I am not only a Law Enforcement Officer but I am also the Father to a young boy that lost his life to drunk driver. I was an Officer when he lost his life. So you can see I've been on both sides of the fence.
I hope to contiue adding items to this site as they become available.
Drunk driving is not a new crime it has been around since the invention of the automobile.
I do not dedicate all of my time  to this, I am also soon to become the County D,A.R.E. officer and I do regular patrol. I have joined forces with The Kansas Drunk Driving Prevention Project. I also  give classes to local schools on the effects of alcohol and drugs. I enjoy giving the classes and interacting with the  young people.     Some Interesting Statistics:
1. Each year students spend $5,5 billion on alcohol,that's more than than they spen on soft drinks,milk,juice,tea, coffee or books combined.

2.In 1998 it was reported that 81.4% of all High School seniors had used alcohol sometime during their life.

3.In 1998 it was reported nationally that32.9% of all High School Seniors had been drunk in the last month.While 10th graders reported in at 21.1% and eight graders at 8.4%.

4.60% of college women diagnosed with sexually transmitted diseaes were drunk at the time of infection.

5.  2.6 million teenagers do not know that a person can die from an alcohol overdose.

6.Estimates are that 2,104 people aged 16-20 died in alcohol related crashes.

7.In 1997 1.4 million people in the U.S. were arrested for DUI, that's more than any other crimes except larceny and theft.

8. In 1999, there were 3,270 alcohol related crashes in Kansas.

9.In 1999, 2,437 people were injured in alcohol related crashes in Kansas alone.
