I run my kyosho Outrage with a Futaba Attack T2ER transmitter (40mhz), 1 Futaba S3003 for steering, Novak Electra speedo, Futaba 2 channel R122JE receiver. I also use a M-troniks APC 200 (8 bit digital peak detection) and Sanyo cells (1300mah, 1400mah, 2 1700mah and a 2000mah).
The Kyosho outrage is a great car for a beginner to learn on. It will take all the abuse you can throw at it and still come out with only a few scratches. It has enough power to throw around a bit but once you have developed from an amateur, you will feel that there is not really enough power to keep you happy. If you run the car on tarmac then be prepared to fork out for replacement rear tyres as they frequently wear down. I have invested in a pair of proline tyres, which are designed for off-road car running on road surfaces. It offers good traction for fast acceleration and comes with good foam inserts keep the tyres firm. The car does stand up to a lot of punishment. I have had my outrage for 5 years and all I have required was a new rotary speed controller, new driveshafts, wheel nuts, spur gear, pinion gear and grubsrews. All replacement parts are fairly cheap to buy and are usually available form your local hobby shop. Although sometimes you may have to order a package of parts for example you have to order all the gearbox gears in order to get the spur gear, this can turn out quite expensive. The body shell is very strong and the only part that might snap is the rear part which is held on behind the windscreen and under the wing. A drop of super glue will stop the crack from spreading. Remember to have super glue ready when building to glue the tyres to the wheels. If you do not do this then the tyres fall off during use.
"High performance with a budget in mind."
"The Outrage and Outrage ARR give top performance at a modest cost- ideal for racing on a budget. Both are rugged, with features such as long travel all independent suspension with four oil-filled sprung dampers that soak up the bumps without affecting directional control. A reliable, high quality rotary speed controller is included for a long service life. A strong tub type chassis protects your radio control from damage. A servo saver is included to protect the servo steering from road shocks. The sealed gearbox helps keep out dirt and includes a geared differential unit for improved cornering at speed. All this makes for easy, simple assembly. The ARR version of the Outrage is 90% pre-built. Even the body shell and rear wing are supplied pre-painted! All you need to do is cut them out A comprehensive sheet of decals is included to decorate both wing and body. Ideal for beginner and outrageous fun!"
