THE BEST SURPRISE!!
Mom surprised me with a visit at our lunch stop on the final day of the walk. She had just recently finished her chemotherapy and finally felt well enough to travel.
Hip, hip ... HOORAY.
It was such a joy to have her there!!
If my husband had not given me the support he did, it would have been difficult to keep that 'can do' attitude all summer before the walk and during the walk. That, and the fact that he said he would take me to eat anywhere I wanted if I completed the 60-mile walk.
I'm thinking Chez Jacques ... in Paris.
AMAZING WOMEN
There were over 200 Breast Cancer SURVIVORS who participated in the walk. Here, they are honored at the closing ceremonies held at Piedmont Park.
