Ulises

Back to Xocenpich

In the summer of 1999, Ulises graduated from the St. Paul Seminary in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.  He now pastors a church in Xcopteil, a small Mayan village about a half hour from his home in Xocenpich.  He is always eager to show us his church and to explain "what's new" with regards to the growing congregation and the village's faith journey.

I was introduced to Ulises on my first visit to Xocenpich.  We went to Merida to tour the St. Paul Seminary where Ulises was enrolled.  When we got there, I instantly knew who he was.  He and my father share some of the same endearing qualities.  There was no question why he and my father got along so well.

We ended up taking him back to Xocenpich with us to surprise his wife, Femia, who wasn't expecting him for a couple of weeks.
