The Life of a Trainer By Lance the Dragon Trainer Cfetters@willinet.net
Half Walkthrough, Half Fan Fiction
Hello. I am telling you a story about my life as a Pokémon trainer. The
world I’m in is full of creatures called “Pokémon.” Pokémon
trainers are people who capture and train Pokémon. There are 150 types in
the world.
Anyway, you probably know this already, don’t you? Let me start at
the beginning.
I have a fellow Pokémon trainer following in my footsteps. I’ll
show him! He won’t win! Anyway, on THAT day I went to the Pokémon
Prof.’s lab. He gave my rival a Bulbasaur. Since I know my Pokémon
guide, I know that if I get a Squirtle, I’m dead against him, but if I
get a Charmander, I’ll teach him a lesson. I chose Charmander. He
started leaving, but I stopped him and- hem- played with his Pokémon for
a while. I lost! Sadly, I headed off.
I was to a place called Virdian City when the prof’ called to me.
He told me to return. When I did he gave me and my rival a Pokédex! I
hurried back to Virdian City and bought some Pokéballs. After that I went
out and grabbed myself a couple Pokémon! I looked in the gym but it was
empty.
After that I left and headed to Virdian Forest. It’s a gloomy
place. Some Pokémon trainers challenged me, but I defeated their bug Pokémon
and left. I got to Pewter City a little later. I decided to
give my Pokémon a rest at the Pokémon center. Then I tried to leave but
I couldn’t! In frustration, I headed to the gym to teach some Pokémon
trainers who’s boss! I did and the gate opened! I looked at the sign and
saw that I was the first trainer ever to beat the Pokémon trainer, Brock!
A bit later, I got to Mt. Moon. I grabbed a few new Pokémon there
as well. After a while I left Mt. Moon. Also, I found a fossil there! I
heard rumors that a place on an island resurrects extinct Pokémon with
fossils! Very cool. Not an hour later I got to Cerulean City!
I beat a good fiend of mine, Misty! Ah, life is good when you love to have
your Pokémon battle. Anyways, she was simple. Instead of making fun of
her losing (which I intended to do), I headed north. There’s a guy named
Bill up there and he showed me some info on RARE POKéMON! He looked like
a Pokémon but I didn’t mind. I headed south again and ran into… MY
RIVAL? I insulted him and attacked. My Charmander, Rattata, Pidgeotto and
Abra didn’t work against his Ivysaur (WHAT?!) so I left.
I headed down route 5 and saw that the town of Saffron was locked
up. No big deal, I just went through the Underground Path to get to
Vermilion City. Man, was it busy! I kept hearing about
“port” and “S.S. Anne.” Okay, that was cool! I healed my Pokémon,
bought about 10 of everything and went to the “S.S. Anne.” It turned
out to be a ship! I went on, challenged the trainers and went to the
captain’s cabin. He’s nothing but a seasick old man! Scratch that
idea, I left. While I was in a room, somebody told me he has a “cut”
HM! Cool, but I don’t care. I headed back to talk to him some more and
left. When I did, my rival came! I challenged his Ivysaur with my Kadabra,
Pidgeotto, Raticate and Chameleon but he won. AGAIN! Dang it, I’m
leaving!
Yes, I did leave. However, I stayed in Vermilion. I noticed that
there was a gym here! All right, fight time! My Diglett mopped the floor
with his Pikachu, Voltorb and Raichu. All right, the THIRD of the eight
gym leaders is down!
I left after the fight. I headed to Diglett’s Cave and walked
through. After I got through, I noticed I was right by Pewter City! I
headed through back to Cerulean City with the Flash HM from the prof’s
aide and got back to Cerulean. Once I was there, I cut down a bush and
headed to the Rock Tunnel.
Once I got to the Rock Tunnel, I used the “Flash” ability
immediately to light my way up. I headed through; getting cash from Pokémon
trainers I beat, and got to Lavender Town. My, Lavender Town
is sad! Everybody’s talking about “Cubone,” “Cubone’s Mother”
and “Team Rocket.” Ah, I don’t care about that unfortunate
Cubone’s mother; I just headed to Celadon City through the underground
path.
ANOTHER GYM! ALL RIGHT! Now I could get some more cash and buy some junk!
This was easy, since I have Charizard in my grasp and he is superior
against the trainers’ grass Pokémon. Ah, stardom! I could get used to
this! But no time for that now, I must get!
I headed to the Pokémon Tower. What luck! I ran into my rival
again! His now-Venusaur beat my Pokémon so I left. WHAT’S HIS SECRET TO
POKéMON TRAINING? ALL MY POKéMON ARE LOSING!
I headed to Saffron City with my Pidgeot flying me over the
guard’s tower. I noticed a big building so I went in, made a home on the
seventh floor and rested. Oh no, I ran into my rival AGAIN! ARGH! Oh well,
I lost again. Hey, a fighting dogo! I went in, bonked the Pokémon on the
head and got a free Pokémon for winning! All right, the trip to Saffron
wasn’t a waste after all! Plus, I got another gym battle! This one has
Sabrina leading it. Big deal, my Butterfree mopped the floor with her
Psychic Pokémon. Laughing, I headed to Route 13 via Routes 8 and 12. I
went through a few others and got to… Fuschia City.
Fuschia City was a bustling town with the legendary “Safari Zone!” I
caught a few Pokémon there and found HM 03! It taught my Vaporeon
“Surf!” Also, there’s A GYM THERE! ALL RIGHT! Number six is down! 6
down, 2 to go. I left Fuschia and headed to the Seafoam Islands!
One of the islands had a legendary bird there! However, I
couldn’t catch it! I hope my rival doesn’t…
I went farther west and got to Cinnabar Island! I looked
around and found THE SEVENTH GYM! The leader there had all fire-type Pokémon
so I used my Vaporeon against him. I won! ONLY ONE MORE TO GO, YES!
I looked at my map ad saw that I had visited every town
except the Indigo Plateau! That means that the last gym is hidden! Or…
Virdian… Closed… could that be…?
I returned to Virdian City. Sure enough, there was the final
gym leader! Giovanni! WHAT? THE LEADER OF TEAM ROCKET IS A GYM LEADER? He
had mostly ground Pokémon. My Exeggcute killed his Pokémon. THE FINAL
GYM LEADER’S DOWN, YES! I headed to the Indigo Plateau, but it was
closed for repairs. Sad, I trudged back to Virdian to wait. However, on
the way I ran into… MY RIVAL? He must have gotten the badges! Promising
to myself that I would win, I attacked. However, once again he beat my Pokémon.
OH NO! I sighed, gave one final “smell ya’ later!” to my rival and
went back to Indigo Plateau.
I went through Victory Road and finally got to Indigo
Plateau! There I found one last Pokémon Center and Pokémon Mart. I
bought everything necessary and kept going. I defeated the Elite Four!
HOORAY! I DID IT, DID IT, DID IT! Now to wait for an idiot to challenge
me. Hey, he’s coming! What idiot would be STUPID enough to challenge the
greatest Pokémon master of all time? He is… he is… MY RIVAL? What is
he doing HERE? Oh, he beat the Elite Four. Well, he can’t beat ME! I
fought him. I had six Pokémon in my grasp: Pidgeot, Alakazam, Rhydon,
Exeggutor, Gyrados and Charizard. However, his Pokémon beat mine?! Sadly,
I headed back to Pallet Town. I reported my loss to Gramps. He wasn’t
too happy, but he was happy after I told him how my rival won the title of
Pokémon Master.
What’s this? Oh, I forgot to tell you our names? Okay, the
Prof’s name is Professor Oak (also my granddad), my rival’s Ash and
I’m Gary. Enough for you? Yes? Good. On I go to fight Ash again…

Pokémon Poem by Paul Baranay (Macintosh888@abro.com)

Version red, version blue,
in both Pikachu is so few. He
is the electric type, he can get
a little hype. Many Pokémon for
you to find, a lot of them can be
so kind. When Pokémon's trainers
tell them to fight, they may not,
but if you do, you can see their might.

Pokémon Story By Pocketpup7@aol.com
Once, there was someone named ASH. Well, one day he went outside
and he wondered if he could sneak out of his village town. He walked
in the grass and suddenly, someone cried out, "ASH!! COME WITH
ME!" Well, Ash followed the old timer to the old guy’s lab. Well,
the old timer showed him three Pokéballs he could choose with one he
wanted. Well, he thought Charmander looks tough but he'll be really
AND REALLY TOUGH FOR NOW. Then, he thought about Bulbasaur he thought he
would be too easy to handle, then, he looked at Squirtle. Ash
thought, “He looks like a medium, good Pokémon and looks like he has
good defense! He chose Squirtle and nick named him Squirtey.
Then, suddenly, a person named GARY came in and he said, ”let me take a
Pokémon too.” And he didn’t think about the Pokémon and just chose
one. It was Bulbasaur and when ash was walking out with Gary, Gary said
"WAIT LETS TEST OUR POKÉMON." Then Ash's first
battle began. Ash said, “Go squirtey!!!” Gary said, “Go Bulbasaur!!”
“Squirtey!! Use your water gun!!!” Bulbasaur
used razor leaf. Pow!! Boom!! POW!!!! Ash won and Gary
left fast because he was blushing since he’d lost...anyway,
Ash’s adventure began after defeating Brock, the first leader, all of
the leaders and the Elite Four

The Ominous MewTwo By Tami Olsen (olsen1@inreach.com)
Once, there was someone named Ash he was setting out on his first
Pokémon adventure he was going to catch every Pokémon even MewTwo then
when he walked out into a bunch of grass to leave pallet town someone said
hey don't go out its to Dangerous wild Pokémon live in this grass then he
said come with me ill take you to my lab and you can pick a Pokémon of
your choice so he brought him to his lab and he looked he saw a Bulbasaur
then he thought he will be good at the beginning but bad at the end then
he saw a Squirtle hell be good everytime but a Charmander would be better
at the end and bad at the beginning he thought i would like a challenge he
picked up a Charmander and said i would love to have this one and Prof.
Oak said sure you can have him all of the sudden his rival Gary came and
said he wanted one to so he picked a Squirtle then he said lets fight em
so they fought Charmander used scratch and Squirtle used tail whip so his
attack fell so much he barely hurt him but then he used scratch and he
fainted the Squirtle he was proud of his Pokémon and he knew he had a
special bond with him then he left to defeat Brock he got his Charmander
at level 15 when he fought Brock and had a level 5 Rattata that was all he
used one potion then when he beat them he changed but all the sudden he
stopped evolution maybe hell change another time i thought he was cuter as
a Charmander anyway so i went on to misty she proved to be a challenge and
i had to get my guys to level 24 when fighting her but before i beat her i
bought a couple great balls and went to Diglett's cave and caught a
Dugtrio then used dig and fainted her Starmie and Staryu then went
to Bill's house he was a Pokémon i changed him back and he said I could
look at his list so i did his favorites were Eevee, Flareon, Jolteon, and
Vaporeon i left and then he gave me a ticket to ss anne before i went i
traded with a friend he had a Pokémon with cut strength and surf i got
the 6 badges and went back to the ss anne i heard that under it was a mew
i wanted to catch him so i swam up to the ship and used strength and under
the ship was a Pokéball i grabbed it and under it was a Mew i got him
went in the ss anne beat everyone with my mew then all of the sudden he
learned mega punch i was very happy because he only had transform and
pound before so i went to cinnabar islands and beat Blaine he was easy
with my mew because mew has no real disadvantage or advantage then gave my
fireblast to Charmander then i caught a dratini at level 15 and trained
him to a good level then went to viridian i fought Giovanni he had all
rock and ground type he was a since then i left to Pokémon league and
then found a Pokémart and Pokécentre then fought Lorelli of the Elite
Four and tried to leave later but someone was telling me to go ahead and
they wouldn't me leave so my guys had barely any life if I
fought Bruno then Agatha and lance beat them then on to my rival gary i
fought all his guys and i had one guy and he had one guy my only guy left
was Dragonite i fought him and used wrap a bunch until i couldn't use it
anymore then i used hyper beam and he used hydropump but i was at a good
level so i didn't die i almost did but i didn't then hyperbeamed him and
his Pokémon fainted i did it i beat the elite four and my rival now i was
the Pokémon champion i went to catch MewTwo and when i did i got in a
fight with a Chansey i caught it and walked up to MewTwo then got my
Haunter ready and fought him then i used Haunter's hypnosis and beat him
up then i used a great ball it didn't catch him i tried again and caught
him now i had one more to catch and that was Tauros i went to safari zone
and got in a fight with a bunch of Pokémon but not him then when i had a
hundred more seconds i got in a fight with him i used a safari ball it
didn't catch him i used a rock then he ran and i left i came back and got
in a fight with him again this time i used a rock first he didn't run yes
now i used a safari ball and caught him i was a Pokémon Master. I had all
151 Pokémon, aren't I great?

The Other Mew By Quex (quex444@hotmail.com)
The Other Mew (based on and inspired by Nintendo's Pokémon and
Arvis Wyndham's "OtherWar")
When I look in PokéWorld,
I see the one they just can't catch.
Shifting shadow,
Brief delusion,
Just some optical illusion,
So they say...
You can search both far and wide,
To learn the power they have inside,
But for all the time you take,
She'll always find a way to hide.
It's a secret in it's own,
Better to be left alone,
Unless you wanna wanna look insane
To that professor back at home.
Refrain:
We're searching on two fronts now,
Where once but one existed.
There are those who look for 150, all through,
And those, like us, who seek
The Other Mew...
They've got it written down in books
Just how 151's evolved form looks,
And they say that's how it started,
But you didn't want to believe.
So you cut out on the path,
Destined to stop them all, mid-laugh.
Cause she's out there, somewhere, waiting,
And she might be there for you.
Refrain2:
They say it isn't true,
As they turn and laugh at you,
But that Pokeball behind your back
Is all that hides...
...The Other Mew. THE END

CHAPTER 1
THEN
Kurtis woke up one bright
Thursday morning and ran downstairs. He ate his breakfast quickly for
today he was 10 and now allowed to start as a Pokémon trainer. He hoped
to be like the great Ash Ketchum, who was quite a legend. Ash's story was
told across the land and was looked up to by all other Pokémon trainers.
Kurtis quickly ate his breakfast and was out the door in no time. He raced
down a familiar path toward his friend, Chris's house. They had been
friends since they were infants. They had been born on the same day at
about the same time. When he arrived, Chris was waiting at the steps of
his house. Kurtis called out to him and they strolled down the path
together. They discussed which Pokémon they were going to choose.
"I'm going to go with
Charmander," said Chris.
"Cool. I think I'll get
Squirtle," Kurtis replied.
They arrived just as Professor
Benjamin walked out the door to get the
newspaper.
"My, you two are here
early."
"Yep," replied Kurtis,
"We wanted to get here before anyone took our
choices. Professor Benjamin took them to a special room where he kept
several Pokéballs. There were three choices for beginning Pokémon
trainers, Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Charmander. The two boys rushed in and
grabbed the Pokémon they wanted.
"So, Charmander and Squirtle eh? Both are very good
choices. Well,
unless there's still something you need, I guess I'll see you off. He
handed them each a Pokédex and some extra Pokéballs. They then sped off
through the town on their way to begin their Pokémon training.
NOW
"Blastoise, go!"
Kurtis yelled, releasing the Pokémon from its Pokéball. The Blastoise
landed at the edge of the Fighting area of the Vermilion City gym and
faced Lieutenant Surges Raichu. The Raichu was the first to attack with
tail whip. Blastoise managed to dodge the attack and countered with a body
slam. It hit square in the chest and knocked the Raichu down. It got back
up and used thunder shock. Blastoise failed to dodge it and fell down. The
Blastoise was still strong and let loose with a surf attack. Raichu tried
to dodge but wasn't quick enough and fainted.
"Well, that's all my Pokémon,
so I guess this Thunder badge is yours."
Kurtis left the gym one step
closer to his dream of being the ultimate Pokémon master. He started his
journey to the next gym in Celadon City. As he walked down one of the
paths, he saw a figure. He had a funny looking hat on and a Pikachu
trailing him.
"Oh my god! It's you! It's
really you!" The figure turned around walked over to Kurtis. His
Pikachu jumped ahead and stood in front of Kurtis.
"Hello there," said
Ash, "are you a Pokémon trainer?"
"Yeah! I'm gonna be the
best. Just like you!" he replied.
"Well, good luck
then," said Ash, "I've got to go now."
"Pikachu pika pika,"
said the Pikachu.
"Bye Ash!" Kurtis
felt a whole lot better after meeting the great Ash Ketchum in person. He
then continued happily on his way.
The End
