Highlanders, taken  after the start of the war . The layout of the tassels on
the sporran and the size and shape of the cap badge identifies the
regiment, and the belt is the 1914 pattern with an S-type clasp,
which dates it.

A soldier of the Royal Army Medical Corps. The cap badge of the RAMC
is worn, whilst the red cross was worn by RAMC and some other
medical personnel.
