3 million years into Deep Space are Red Dwarf, a mining ship. All the crew died of radiation, except Lister, who was in suspeneded animation at the time. Also his pregnent cat survived, it`s decendents evolving into a "catman" race...And so, Lister`s only companions are, the last of the catrace, Cat, a hologram of his dead surperior and worst enemy, Rimmer and the ship`s computer, Holly. They were later joined by Kryten, the mechanoid.
As the series progressed, there isn't a place they haven't been, or a thing that hasn't happened to them. Nowadays they are back on Red Dwarf as prisoners, joined by Lister's love instrest, Kristine Kochanski
And together they are the funniet thing I know of!

Sadly however, this series has come to an end. *sob*. 8 fantastic season, but now it's over. Or..
"The End - The smeg it is!" .

Red Dwarf id a British SF sitcom, not very known in the U.S. Too bad! For this series is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
